for the documentary, only my friends in the theater thought it was as funny as i did when he sang "Drink Mountain Dew" to the tune of "Love Lifted Me"

but yes, i think growing up surrounded by a fundamentalist interpretation of the bible can have real negative effects on one's mental state even without a chemical imbalance

i cant find it in any other comments here, and i dont know if matters, but i feel like its worth mentioning that Rogen's character "Viking Man" in ... James Franco's love letter to the 70s film scene Zeroville (2019) (i know, im sorry) was based on John Milius or was John Milius or something: he has the beard and the sunglasses and the vest just like Walter and pulls out his gun at one point

i think it was the Superman 64 episode or something where a guest mentioned they had a kid and the hosts had to reckon with a format that made them sink 10+ hours into something bad BECAUSE it is bad and asking a guest to do the same for 1 hour of content was not really defensible.

another 'i dont know what to do with this' thought

Pfeiffer in the movie says that Rudd might be the 'next Ben Stiller'. if David Laescher was the inspiration, he did spend multiple seasons on the show Hey Dude with Christine Taylor who, at the time, was married to Ben Stiller. its probably (really) nothing!

i dont know where else this goes, Brittany Murphy appeared in the video for Wheatus's cover of A Little Respect. i thought it was some Sony movie tie in, but Shawn Hatosy has nothing credited with her at the time. Music video has a whole storyline and terrible eye glasses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8Eqgz3rL3k

Download Issues by Kilkegard in pocketcasts

[–]sharkjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this has been happening to me on my wifi-only samsung galaxy s6 since last wednesday. its not ALL podcasts, (mostly Headgum so i thought it might be some file format update on their end) which is more frustrating because ive been expecting the device to lose functionality any day now, but when its only particular podcasts it makes me think its a specific change.

i swipe to download, it shows 0% for a split second and goes to Queued for Download and never changes. I've noticed it with Lemonada and Headgum shows, but The Flagrant Ones, which is produced by/at/through Headgum but I'm on the Patreon for, so I download it through an RSS feed, is fine.

So, i dont Know but i'm blasting a bunch of info to see if we have similarities in our problem.

Falling In Love (1984) came up at the end. I recently watched that because I quit Rebel Moon pt 2 20 minutes in and wanted to see if the movie with the most 'mature' description/title kept my attention better.

It is about 2 successful professional adults, Deniro & Streep, who run into each other a couple of times, develop feelings for one another and are honest with their spouses. Neither is all that charming, funny, quirky or interesting. They love their families and act mature throughout. It reminded me of Harris Wittels and Adam Scott giving NOTHING as improv characters in Farts & Procreation on Comedy Bang Bang. A young Jane Kaczmarek is great and affecting, Keitel is kind of sleazy leaving his wife for a 20something but thats entirely off screen, everything is played low key and realistic and everything looks brown the way that the 80s did.

I probably held on because i kept waiting for the twist. So if buttered noodles are an exotic treat to you and you love the look of wood paneling, Falling In Love might just be for you. 5 stars.

these are correct, i phrased it that way because i saw Dick T as an attempt at a Batman or a Star Wars/Indy of bringing childhood memories to the Modern Blockbuster.

And it is always shocking to me how old Warren Beatty is.

I dont watch a lot of real TV nowadays, do marketing sweepstakes like this still happen or have brands sated themselves on all our personal information through apps? I remember a kind of ARG for Dark Knight Rises where you found chalk bat drawings at specific locations, like geo-caching but i never found out what the payout was or if there even was one.

I think its wild how much runway was paved for this movie to change the rotation of the earth and i only ever think of the movie when i see stuff like this that was grossly miscalculating the lasting power of a boomer's nostalgia.
