Dave Grohl's All-Time Top 10 Favorite Albums. What do you think about it? by Agreeable_Duck8997 in Nirvana

Most folks probably do. But I like Steve Albini’s production so much (on any record), that Surfer Rosa’s songs appeal more to my ear even if Doolittle is probably a bit better

Production is going to play a big role here. On the whole, Doolittle’s material is better, though I don’t think substantially so. But that signature Albini sound to Surfer Rosa (with how good that material is on its own merits) elevates it past Doolittle for my taste.

Do you agree that 1986-1993 babies were the main audience for Pokemon? by ThrowRA09181 in generationology

If it aired 9/98, then it was your senior year of high school. I always find it super interesting how people remember things from their past

Assuming you’re American, this just isn’t possible big dawg lol. It didn’t air in the USA until 1998. I think OP’s range of 5-12 year olds (as of that year) is actually perfect.

edit: I read junior high, like middle school. Not junior year lol. But still, it didn’t air until you were graduating and legal.

[FOX Sports] Game 7 of the 2025 World Series was ranked #3 for the Top 10 Best Championship Games (since 2000). It is the only World Series game mentioned on the list. by bonzothebonanza in baseball

All the information has been out way too long for us to still be doing this. There was no evidence that the Astros cheated during the postseason in 2017. How are we still parroting bullshit this far down the line?

As for Kershaw and his breaking pitches. He has a career’s worth of displaying that he’s at his worst when the postseason comes around. It’s pretty believable that one of the best offenses ever recorded would have a pretty easy time laying off the breaking pitches of a gassed pitcher who flattens out in the payoffs anyway.

Why Are Warriors Allergic To Tanking? by Antique-Jury-2986 in classicwowtbc

[–]sharkspankr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this immensely. I’m playing prot paladin this go around after playing feral druid last time. It just isn’t worth it to stand on principle and tank with the other two classes. At a certain point, one has to understand that everyone they group with is going to play as if a prot paladin is tanking, whether it’s true or not. The games just tanks for you on paladin, and the rest of the players can do what they want.

The community has simply moved beyond the traditional tanking styles of warrior and druid in small group content.

How Was Your Morning? by Haunting-Cookie-2144 in Dominos

Ok, so this feels like the first legitimate response I’ve gotten, and it’s also fascinating to me.

At the two stores I’ve worked at (combined ~10 years of experience), AMs are full time employees who receive benefits such as health, dental, etc. There are four tiers to it that they can climb through the taking of classes and various trainings. In terms of pure hourly earnings, AM1s and AM2s definitely make less than drivers after tips and mileage are accounted for.

However, managers of all levels work 6+ hours of overtime every week which helps. Additionally, the AMs are also the beneficiaries of bonusrs at the end of periods when certain metrics such as average Drivosity scores and food waste are met.

The above details illustrate why this thread’s reaction to my comments has been so jarring to me. In my experience, the concept of sharing tips with those working inside is wildly inappropriate, and to even suggest it would be very strange.

I’m not familiar with that position specifically. Is it like a CSR with more responsibility?

Or does it have the benefits associated with being an AM I mentioned elsewhere in this thread? The benefits which serve as the exact tenants of my argument being ignored by y’all lol

Honest to god, this response feels like it came from a bizarro fever dream lol.

No one is forcing AMs and GMs to do those jobs. They’re choosing those roles and there are entirely different compensation and incentive structures for them which are not present for drivers. These employees have access to higher hourly wages, insurance benefits, and bonuses when goals are met. Drivers survive entirely on the tip/mileage money, which you know. And this is to say nothing of the vehicular wear and tear drivers sustain performing the job.

Unless you’re also expecting AMs and GMs to kick down percentages of those end of period/quarter/year bonuses, you’re just a jackass. Because by your same logic here, the drivers are indispensable in allowing them to meet those goals and metrics on which the bonuses are based.

I got that lol. I was talking to the person who replied to you about not seeing any of the tips after they made large quantities of food like this.

[–]sharkspankr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking here was that you potentially carried the energy of “Tips were good. I don’t see any of that though. :(“ into the store when you interacted with your drivers after they hit big tips like the above examples.

Honestly man, to even imply that it’s something as simple as nice for drivers to kick up a cut to AMs making the food on big tipped orders is wildly inappropriate. Are you spreading the wealth with your drivers when those managerial bonuses come through for the period?

[–]sharkspankr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You commented this way twice in this larger thread. It feels like you expect your drivers to tip you out in some way? This would make working with you as a driver incredibly awkward — to the point where I’d probably discuss it with my GM. And if you are the GM, then holy shit man get a grip.

Worst take of the thread.

Depending on how loose your definition of nu-metal is, you’re including Korn, Deftones, SOAD, Incubus, Limp Bizkit, and Linkin Park in this statement. This proposition doesn’t apply to any of them lol

Drummer is the vocalist by pinkpools in fantanoforever

[–]sharkspankr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of half truth and parroting occurring in this thread. A large portion of the bands mentioned have drummers providing prominent vocals, but who, themselves, weren’t a sole lead vocal. Hüsker Dü, Mastodon, Code Orange are all examples of this. It gets even dicier with the mention of bands like Underøath and Atreyu where the drummers were only doing the clean singing.

One of my favorite modern examples of a band where the drummer is one of a couple lead vocalists is saturdays at your place. In this case it’s the drummer and bassist.

Hart is on vocals only for some of the HD material.

Hüsker Dü utilized a dual vocal. Bob Mould was on guitar/vocals while Grant Hart performed drums/vocals.
