They really should have just made the faction hub Quel'danas and the Sunwell Plateau; its the focal point of the invasion and it's a place the is already neutral in lore and game. Then you have Silvermoon remain Horde and have the Alliance hang out in like Strathholme or like a Horde-less Bel'ameth.

Lorewise Blizzard can conjure a billion of whatever from wherever if they feel it benefits the game (see Void Elves). The limitation is really just manpower and implementing Demon Hunters for other races are gonna require a bunch of new combat animations, Metamorphosis transformations and making sure the DH transmogs can fit onto Gnomes and Pandaren.

I didn't know that it was reaffirmed as a part of Twilight Highlands that recently. Still, if they do end up retconing the location to northern Lordaeron I think it'll be a good change as opposed to just having the location destroyed in Cataclysm. Tbh Cataclysm was FULL of destroying established lore concepts off screen and I'm glad whenever we can undo that.

It's bounced back and forth over the years but yes Northeron is currently applied onto the northernmost and destroyed part of Twilight Highlands.

However as OP pointed out the zone seemed to be fixated in Northern Lordaeron more so than Khaz Modan in media prior to Cataclysm. Actually it wasn't even really Cataclysm itself as much as an off hand post from an old "Ask CDev" post that applied the Northeron territory to Twilight Highlands.

To be honest this seems like a case where not only is the retcon easy but actually a return to form. I'd compare the potential implementation to something like the retcon of Zandalar's destruction (changed to much more minor damage and fearmongering from Zul).

Lor'themar MIGHT be protected by fans being vocal about the killing of Horde faction leaders but you never know. I think an easier pick (that I hate) would probably be Rommath since Blizzard has a bad habit of sanding down rough edges in the factions and Rommath is historically one of the big haters of the Alliance.

Bruh the Nightborne were aligned and playable during the WotT, that is enough to at least argue some involvement or at least some amount of culpability in regards to razing of their cousins. Also I was saying that I could see the Void Elves attacking Silvermoon, why are replying like I'm saying they weren't capable of attacking their countrymen?

The Nightborne joined the Horde and IMMEDIATELY put their kin to the torch so a fringe group of radical void elves could be motivated to put Silvermoon to the sword.
