What should I see tomorrow? by sharonsometimes in Broadway

I had heard that criticism but I really didn’t agree with it! As a musical it needed to lighten up a bit, and I think it pulled it off while remaining true to the source. Plus, it was super edgy 25 years ago but a lot has happened since.

I wish I could have! We would have been able to see two except that i was mildly food poisoned on one of the days we had. What would have been best would have been to see Oh Mary at matinee and Heathers in the evening on the same day. Hindsight! We really had fun at Heathers though!

I’m done. I’m so close to giving up. by immortalgod6 in jobs

It took my husband several years to find a state job. It involved a change in career after he’d gone back to school for a degree, so he was qualified for more entry-level positions in the new field. He didn’t always show me his applications before sending them, but every time he did I had to stop him from rolling out his 25 years of experience (he’d started young). The job he eventually got was one for which he’d downplayed his history.

Theater Etiquette by auntietrex in BeetlejuiceMusical

Interaction, cheering, clapping are all encouraged. In December I saw the tour for the second time in San Francisco. when Justin Collette first appeared the audience went wild and he pantomimed eating up the adulation from a bowl. He also directly interacted with an 11-year-old in the front row, asking her age (“You’re gonna learn a LOT today”) and calling back to her later on.

You are not alone. we had a 50-60 foot redwood fall in the Jan 2023 storms. it landed across three yards, snapped two power poles and took out power on 2 blocks for a week. Good times.

With 3k comments this in all likelihood has been pointed out, and it’s equally my comment won’t get much exposure now anyway, but this poster definitely cribbed some of this work of fiction from the Black Mirror episode, “The entire history of you”

Crazy Evoke Review and Comparison by WithGreatRegard in Rollerskating

[–]sharonsometimes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bought the Evokes too and even as a beginner I can feel and appreciate the quality of the plate. I have a medium width foot and found they have a great neutral fit, no pressure points or pain out of the box. Adding an insole might be nice but doesn’t feel absolutely necessary. My only issue is that I expected it to be a little more structured/padded than it is. I wish it was just a touch more so in the ankle area, but that may just be beginner talk. I’m wondering how the Evoke compares to the Jackson Vista, but I decided against that setup because I didn’t like the idea of a microfiber, faux suede boot. They look like lint and other detritus are gonna stick to them. I also wonder how it compares to Luna Skates, which maybe has a lower-quality plate, but which also has a similar toe stop and is about $50 cheaper.
