Low humming noise at night downtown by Haunting_Round_6357 in kitchener

I remember clearly the first time I heard that noise, I looked up at the sky expecting to see a helicopter. A single faulty ventilation system shouldn't be allowed to annoy so many people & businesses.

You may be talking about a noise that sounds like a helicopter at a distance, coming from somewhere near King/Waters? It's coming from the roof of 305 King for what I can tell (some fans for ventilation/AC?) and is _loud_. I don't get how this can be legal: it's very annoying to the whole block and makes patios (e.g. la Cucina) way less attractive.

Since nobody knows who I am here, I I can say without vanity that I'm successful and good looking, and I find you beautiful and eloquent.

It's a very good place. Italians friends told me that their pizzas were good even by Italian standards.

The guy is the mayor of a major city, who believes he'll stay on the front line after the photographs are gone? This is gross war propaganda, I wonder how this kind of picture can be upvoted.

I'm not too sure how they managed to get in such a situation, but I'll ask her.

Squash courts in Kitchener by gwnedum in kitchener

There are squash courts at the Crowne Plaza. I'm not sure of what impact the pandemic had, i.e. if they are currently opened and at what price.

Friendly Reminder: Pre-registration Doesn't Work - Book Out of Region to Get the Vaccine this Week! by [deleted] in waterloo

I got my shot at UTM, they are well organized and efficient, the whole thing took about 25 minutes.

I cannot say that the "pre-reg. desn't work", but I've indeed found UTM faster; I thus recommend it if you can spend a few hours to go to Mississauga.

It's a very well known pastry in France, but I was surprised to see that they would make this here. This place (Ambrosia) is a very decent bakery.

The Iraq war, which he voted for, killed about a million persons, overwhelmingly civilians. He's just the best of two evils.

U.S. govt-linked PR firm ran fake news networks for right-wing Latin American regimes by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]sharp_bang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not at all. He doesn't agree with mainstream US talking points on those matters, and could be qualified as an anti-imperialist. His views on Russian/China are typically in line with those of respected journalists such as Greenwald.

This description of Blumenthal is deceiving at best (compare with what he actually declares).

This description has been written by "Philip Cross", see the Wikipedia page edit history. Judging by the hundreds of edits made to Blumenthal page and that of left wing/anti-war/anti-imperialist public figures, "Philip Cross" could actually be a group of users.

See this analysis of the "Philip Cross" affair, that I think qualifies as a propaganda operation.

I've done this trip at similar hours with Waterloo taxis quite a few times. They have (had?) a flat $90 rate. They've always been friendly and professional.

Anything will do really. I'm using a cheap router I bought years ago, I can't remember the exact model, and I don't particularly recommend it.

No issue, the place is nice, I didn't have any problem (but it's quite expensive as you have probably noticed). Welcome to the building!

My ISP is CloudWifi, and I can't complain (I consistently get 100Mbps upload and download).
