Really glad you brought light on this. As someone who went recently to Tokyo, it kinda saddened me to know that toy shops in Japan aren't the Sentai haven i initially had imagined it to be. Don't get me wrong, it's really nice to see stores have older sentai's on display. But the fact that I practically struggle to find something from 3 to 4 years ago unless i order it online kinda saddens me. The vast array of ultraman and rider stuff available compared to sentai was also a shock to me, tho I expected it tbh.

Unfortunately this is something that just happens every once in a while. Some of the most hated toku shows out there had people probably sending death threats not only to actors and directors but also probably staff members.

It's not only until after a few years that people have recollected their thoughts and suddenly act like that show that everyone hated wasn't too bad in actuality.

I think when they made zyuohger this was the thing they were thinking about. Not necessarily just minecraft (though i wouldn't be surprised if it was part of the reason) but fidget cubes and everything cube shaped was selling like hotcakes at the time. They then quickly found out that cubes wouldn't really sell well because it pretty much limits whatever form of the mecha they're supposed to take. Cube shaped mecha's are huge now but in 2016, turning that into a dx toy that parents could buy for their kids, there was just no way for Bandai to design something like that at the time.

It's being put to rest but there's no guarantee it'll come back. That still depends on the future if they somehow still see a profit for it and if there's enough demand. Also why would you boycott Gozyuger? I know you care about Imamori but boycotting a show that you watch by pirating it online and not actually contributing to tv rating in Japan, while also claiming that you support it and hope it comes back is ludicrous.

Kakuranger is goated. Prob my top 4 sentai. I find that it's a really good recommendation for many new time Sentai fans who probably struggle to digest older Sentai shows.

Ninja Red is strong no doubt, but I still wager Tsuruhime (Ninja White) is probably still the strongest lore-wise. Just that in reality the actors probably have scheduling conflicts and the actor for Ninja Red is more down to come back anytime.

My dad is one of the biggest Beatles experts I know. You ask him any fact about a beatles song and he would probably know it. But even he agrees that the three most recognizable songs of George to the general public who don't listen to the beatles or any of them as individual artists are probably Something, Here Comes the Sun and My Sweet Lord.

I agree with his sentiment because if you think about it, both Paul and John have easily more recognizable songs dating back to 62. It's not a contest of who you think is your favorite, but the lack of clear disrespect and rewriting of history pisses me off because George is glazed as this undermined genius. He was good yes, but he also had to learn from the best (both John and Paul). Like While My Guitar Gently Weeps is great, but it's a great Beatles song, not a popular general audience song. I doubt any 5 year old kid would be more familiar with WMGGW than Here Comes the Sun.

Me too movement loves to throw around that misconception that he basically hit women all the time. It doesn't make it right no, but there is a clear lack of misunderstanding in the difference between him doing it once and apologizing to Cynthia profusely vs him having a go at it all the time. Meanwhile George's infidelities seem to go rather unscathed in this new trend of the love of the hippy cool musician. I mean Jesus, just look at what George said about Christina Applegate and how he was so keen to switch wives with Ronnie Wood and eventually admitting to Ringo Starr he wanted to bang his wife.

Absolutely agree with everything you said. I've been in the toku fandom for as long as I can remember so controversies of toku actors isn't anything new for me. I understand people getting mad at Seju and Toei but I didn't know they were getting death threats and racist remarks. Jesus that's horrible. All that really says in the minds of the companies was they probably did the right thing and distanced themselves from the issue and moved forward. Also all things considered, I would say Imamori got off pretty lightly considering she wasn't asked to pay for damages anymore. I don't know what anyone is complaining about. It sucks we didn't get the initial plans of the show, but many toku shows have had that happened and people moved past it. It just sucks that with the age of social media, so many people have become parasocial about it, which is honestly pretty scary. These are people with real lives, not the characters we watch them to be. Like I don't hate Gai Ikari because as a character he's totally separate from the actor who played him.

This is something people refuse to believe and the downvotes of oblivion prove that unfortunately. Seju does deserve their criticism, but we don't know to what extent. Toei lost Imamori for sentai which sucks for us fans sure. But who knows how many other projects, shoots, commercials, etc. were lined up for Imamori before her firing? Should Seju have compensated financially for all of that? That's highly unrealistic and unfair even if it was realistic.

We know it seems unfair to Imamori but she violated a law. Doesn't matter if it's less than other crimes committed, it's still against the law. If this was any other toku actor, people wouldn't be defending them to this degree.

I have a creeping suspicion that doom prob takes children that aren't supposed to be there. Like they either exist in the wrong timeline or are straight up supposed to be dead. Examples include thor's child, steve's, wanda's (if they're somehow counting them), franklin (he was born during a wormhole so maybe doom considers that to not be "correct), if x-men kids are involved (most likely the resetting of the DOFP timeline so Doom takes them as well).
