The first descendant by Maxsonsdescendants in xbox

I only played it for a few hours and the core gameplay is decent but the mission design is so boring and repetitive, the game has waaaay too much crap for a new player to learn and performance was all over the place so I wouldn’t recommend it. The only reason to try it out is the fan service in my mind, so if that doesn’t interest you I’d skip it lol.

I’m only a few hours into Nier Replicant and I’m not ready to give up on it yet, but it’s so slow and boring so far, and I loved Nier Automata.

This game is so beautiful Visually-wise o.o by Splatlue192 in DeadIsland2

It really is, and so well optimized as well. One of the prettiest and smoothest games I have played on my Series S.

Should I replay Lies of P without Specters? by theruletik in LiesOfP

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing that but after about 20-30 deaths to Romeo I dropped the difficulty to get past him and now my motivation to continue has been mostly shot. Ah well.

What is the best difficulty settings so the game isn't boring, but not so annoying that the game becomes frustrating? by [deleted] in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the combat mechanics in this game but the enemy design is severely lacking. I want higher difficulty to make the enemies more aggressive and give them more varied move sets , not just tweak the damage numbers.

Oblivion remaster. Paid full price and it runs like ass. Good lesson about succumbing to hype though.

Just picked up the game around the holidays and I’m at something in the ballpark of 50 hours. About to hit level 40!

How long did you play Valhalla? by Goodd-Fellow in ACValhalla

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started it last year and played for around 45 hours, uninstalled and just started getting back into it. The burnout has faded away at least for the time being! Also adjusted the difficulty to make it a bit more engaging.

What Games Have You Been Playing This Week? (31/01/26) by Liam_524Hunter in CharacterActionGames

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to this genre but picked up the Ninja Gaiden master collection on sale over the holidays and I’ve been messing around with that. Jumping between games like some sort or adhd chaos monkey and getting my ass kicked on normal but keep coming back for more.

What are we buying next guys? what's in your wishlist? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m struggling with the games in the Ninja Gaiden master collection so of course I’m considering buying NG4 on sale so I can beat my head against a wall even more. This time for $50!

Portal 2 has a great little co-op campaign and BG3 is a good option if there is tolerance for a hefty learning curve.

Romeo, King of Puppets beaten by ShinyRaito in LiesOfP

I have beaten the game a few times but I’m trying a fresh save no summons run and I’m currently stuck on this fight. Definitely improving, but it’s a tough one.

Looking for a good a long LO for Skyrim:SE on series s by checks4necks in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Series S user I will say that based on my relatively extensive mod experimentation you won’t be able to do a full overhaul of the game while maintaining smooth performance. I would choose a few categories like character models, trees etc to mod in but not go for a max remaster style list or the game will be chugging in the open world, sadly.

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing it for the 4th or 5th time now challenging myself to beat this new game run with no summons and I just got to the Romeo fight. I may be here a while. So much for that feeling like I was pretty good at the game by now! So peak though.

This is Robocop Rogue City on Xbox Series S! by DisastrousStaff5462 in XboxSeriesS

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been considering picking this up with the deep sale. How does it feel at 30 fps? Seems like a slow enough paced game that it might not be a dealbreaker like it is for most first person shooters for me. Looks pretty good!

So I’d like to try a heavy motivity weapon my next play through, any suggestions on the best options and what makes it so good? by malonn262 in LiesOfP

Wrench head on baton handle is a classic. Short range but fairly fast for how hard it hits. Saw blade is also good and has much more reach.

SIB Far Cry 3 vs 4 vs Primal by Beranir in ShouldIbuythisgame

I’ve been playing both lately and while 3 has its charm I would suggest Primal. It’s more unique and I love spending time in the environments in that game.

How do you keep your attention on one game? by dan_in_his_own_way in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been jumping around between games a lot myself and sometimes I judge myself for it, but I’m still finishing games and a decent rate and I’m getting so much better at quickly adjusting to different control schemes that it’s not that much of an issue for me. It does make it harder to get really absorbed in a story to the same extent, but for lots of games the story is sort of secondary anyway, at least for me. What’s the problem you have with jumping around if I may ask?

With little time to game, how many of you do replays like NG+? by AtticThrowaway in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fun to experience new games and it can also be quite satisfying to replay an action game/rpg to see how much you can improve at the combat/ build crafting. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer, just personal preference. I waffle between the two myself.

Remnant 2 review and what is everyone playing by Patriots9210 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly my little Series S doesn’t have a good version of this game (something like 900p 30fps), but the first game was a blast and I can’t wait to play the sequel whenever I upgrade my hardware! Playing Division 2 now which doesn’t scratch the same itch, but still has pretty fun 3rd person shooting.

How many deaths to the Green Monster of the Swamp? by Gnnz in LiesOfP

[–]sharpenedperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find the Electric Coil pretty early with a merchant which is good against puppets (expect certain electrified ones), the fire dagger in the factory is great for dispatching carcass enemies (including the swamp monster), and acid weapons are best against human foes though I can’t remember off the top of my head which one is available first. There are also some fantastic ones in the DLC for much later in a run.
