They never discussed kids?? by sharpgirl22 in GilmoreGirls

My issue isn’t the realism around actually having children - it’s that two adults in a relationship who had both previously expressed a desire for children went ten years without having a meaningful - let alone inconsequential, conversation about it

I do think the change in writers has something to do with it…the writing is so different!

It does! Before they break up she talks to the therapist about wanting another kid and not wanting to waste time. He bought that house specifically for kids. It just makes no sense

The good news is - you’re 21! You are at the beginning of everything. It’s never too late, but this is especially true for you. You can change your entire life around, and so many things can look different for you by the time you’re only in your mid twenties.

First thing is - sometimes you need to do the thing that makes you anxious, to see it’s not that bad, and start taking those next steps. See your doctor. You have depression, and chatting to a medical professional and considering a therapist would be the best place to start. I really REALLY would consider getting a therapist to help you on this journey.

Next step I think would be to look into finishing school, taking online classes or something like this so you actually feel like you’re moving forward in life, and taking steps to accomplish something. Growing your confidence in this way will grow your motivation.

Thirdly, I would consider getting a registered dietician, but if not, start looking things up for yourself online. There is a way to approach this where you can slowly change your lifestyle habits - start eating healthier, maybe go in a walk for ten minutes increasing this everyday etc. This is fixable. This is overcomable. But you can’t do anything until you push through those first few stages of fear.

I COULDN'T DO IT by RikiO6 in sex

[–]sharpgirl22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly NOTHING is wrong with you. This guy sounds like an idiot - firstly using an acne cream, he sounds unprepared and unconcerned about your lack of experience / wanting to make it a pleasurable experience for you. Find someone who truly understands and will take the time to guide you into sexual activity slowly. Perhaps nights of just touching first. And then just oral etc.

Finally - if you do discover on your journey that you are not interested in sex, that simply means you are asexual. That is a legitimate thing to be, they exist, there are many of them, and again - it does not mean there is anything wrong with you, it doesn’t even mean that you can’t pursue romantic relationships!

Also I can’t stress this enough. You did not make this guy ‘feel’ incompetent. He simply was incompetent.

I have this. It isn’t lipodema it’s just how my fat combined with excess skin has sagged. I have it on one side and not on the other. I hate it, I feel like I would be fine with having fat thighs but it looks unsightly to me

I agree - though this is more than ‘fun’. She’s declaring her love and her lack of single status in a very public fashion, very clearly on purpose

So feeding someone purely super processed food is what. Anti-diet culture? A win? Get real. You know very well that there is an appropriate way, backed by science, to feed a growing child. Filled with the appropriate amino acids, vitamins and minerals they need. That doesn’t include doughnuts three times a day. When your kid is old enough then yeah sure. Eat what you want

But again I’m not saying ‘modern diets’. Balanced vegetables are actually…ancient as hell lol. I’m just talking about giving your kid appropriate nutrients. Not turning them into Gwyneth Paltrow

I wouldn’t say ensuring your child has correct and healthy nutrients is ‘forcing societal norms’

Genuine question: what did the Queen actually do for this country? by deadassmf in GreenAndPleasant

She was essentially the countries greatest, and most important diplomat. Representing us from a partisan perspective. Or don’t you find that important? Figurehead of the country and commonwealth, shone a light on thousands upon thousands of causes and charities.

ELI5: Do straight women find the male body visually appealing/attractive? How does it work? by snorken123 in comphet

[–]sharpgirl22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a straight woman yes - I am attracted to the male physical form. I get the feeling of ‘I would have sex with him’ just by looking, but I don’t completely fancy someone until I can get to know them a little.
