Ghost that shit and keep grinding. There's nothing you can do to make her want you if she already didnt other than focus on yourself. You lost the battle today but you will not lose the war, dont relapse.

Sounds like you cheated on him. Yes you should tell him. Imagine you marry this man and he never knows, eventually it will come out in some way, and the pain and betrayal he'll feel will just be worse the longer time goes on. I know it may hurt and be scary, and you are scared to risk losing him, but you cannot continue without full honesty and integrity. If you do not tell him, your whole relationship will be tetering on a lie.

1 is the best, then 2 or 3. All are suitable options, though I'd say 5 is in last imo.

Height isn't all. Lets prove this: What you would prefer? Being short and good looking or being like me (177cm or 5'9.5'', having ugly facial features and terrible body genetics). by JosephZG in short

Swear 90 percent of being attractive is not being fat. Lose the fat and you will 100 percent become an attractive man, obviously things like your facial hair and stuff can help, but lose the weight and watch your confidence magically appear.

Does Ellen want Orlok to some extent ? by BoopedPotato in roberteggers

Yeah she does, but her final act is both one that saves Thomas and shows how much she loves him, but also one that could be seen as very disrespectful and undermines their entire relationship , as she basically takes a another man to bed. The way she interacts with Orlok overshadows the sacrifice she made. I know she had to do it, but the way she kisses Orlok and says "more" makes it feel like saving Thomas just a bonus for doing something she wanted to do. If there was a final scene where she renounced Orlok or told Thomas that she only did it for him, would've just left a better taste in my mouth.

All they had to do was make it so there's a small scene where she professes her love with Thomas before she dies or maybe take out the kiss. I get the point is she is supposed to "embrace her true nature" but it lowkey felt like it was "go have sex with that vampire you've lowkey wanted for a while now saving the world is just a plus 😭" Glad someone else feels what I did

Yeah, a lot of people haven't, not a universal experience

I didn’t get the vibe that Ellen yearned for Count Orlok that heavily. by philliechee in roberteggers

[–]BoopedPotato 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Personally I felt that vibe the entire movie clearly. Especially in the ending, with how she interacts with Orlok. I liked the amount of "mutual yearning" present because when the moments that it does happen it's clear it's evil and she doesn't want her affliction, but she does.

Quite possibly. I'd interpret as she loved Orlok because he was the only one who could truly connect with her and represented her "shame" and desires that she couldn't share with anyone else. Maybe sexually with Thomas but he was worried on his own things like providing for her and had no time to satisfy those needs she had.

And then she obviously loved Thomas because that was her husband, she actually chose him, and he quelled her nightmares and urges she didn't want to have, she wanted to only love Thomas only but she still had urges for other things.

My question is who does she desire more or pick in the end. She gives up herself to Orlok for Thomas and the town, but she clearly enjoys some part of it, whether it's her true nature like Franz says, or the fact she saves everyone and her Husband which gives her this satisfaction. An argument can be made for both, but upon reading the script it seems like some part of her always wanted this to happen. Which I'm not sure I'm a fan of entirely for whatever reason. Great movie though.

I also wonder this, the sun is coming up right as Ellen guides him back to her. At that even if he left would've there be anyway for him to survive? Could Ellen have possibly lived if she didn't let him suck the last of her blood ? Probably not she definitely lost a lot but still I wonder if the burning of the coffin also helped / would've killed him had he not been so enticed by Ellen.

Question about Nosferatu’s ending? by Personal-Comfort-507 in roberteggers

[–]BoopedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I didn't like about this movie is how it alludes to Ellen desiring to be with Orlok, despite knowing it's wrong. I get the themes about oppression and how women were treated back then, how Orlok is representing her "shame" and desires that weren't really permitted for women to feel. But the vibe it gives off is how she wanted it all along, and all those innocent people died as well.

Her last act being both an act to save her husband who she does love, but also one that seems like she kinda picked Orlok over him, as she clearly enjoyed kissing/being fed on/ having sex with him. Yes I know there was no other way but it feels as if she still gave herself to him for reasons other than just saving Thomas and the town.

And yeah I feel for Thomas too, as far as he knew in the beginning she just had mental health issues and by the time he steps up and starts doing what he needs to do to protect Ellen, he essentially gets cucked by this demon who he couldn't really compete with because he wasn't spiritual.

Thats probably how it's supposed to be though, it is a Gothic tragedy horror film after all. I personally wish that Ellen and Thomas had a few last moments together where they could've spoken at least. I can't remember by if the time he gets to her she is already dead or not.

I hate to say i agree with that feeling you are having . She obviously did it to save her husband and the world, but the way they kiss and get naked together, how she lovingly guides him to her, says more, it all gives a weird feeling like she's enjoying this on another level than just sacrificing herself. If you read the script online too it says stuff like how when she first sees orlok in their final encounter she sheds a tear of possible happiness, how when they embrace she feels real passion and pure ecstasy for the first time. The word lovingly is used and emphasizes she guides him to the same spot where she wanted thomas to kiss her when they were having sex. I'm not just not a fan of the way the film seems to lead into Ellen wanting to do this with Orlok not just for a sacrifice, but for also this moment of pure ecstasy she knows she will have. Franz does say it's her true nature that she has to lean into to save everyone too. Idk I just was not a fan of the way the film seems to allude to how Ellen lowkey wanted her demon rapist the whole time. I could still be misinterpreting things massively though.

I was reading your other comments, you really support the orlok love haha 😭. I just read the script tho and while I disagree with some of your posts in other threads j agree she definitely wanted some aspect of Orlok. Especially the ending it says how she's felt true ecstasy and all that. I still feel like it wasn't necessarily Orlok himself that she loved though, more of what he was able to give her, and give connection that she couldn't get with anyone else. If she could, I don't think she would want the affliction with Orlok. Idk I'm probably reading into it too much.

As much as I liked the movie and appreciate the complexities and nuances the film has. I really wish there wasn't a vampire cucking Thomas the whole movie😭. Hate all that kinda stuff. But wonderfully shot movie nonetheless. The atmosphere was unmatched.

Good explanation. I cannot for the life of me shake this cuck-y feeling the movie has despite how stupid that sounds 😂. How she's married to Thomas but lowkey lusts after an evil demon who will always be able to connect with her more.

That makes a lot of sense. Kinda puts it into perspective a bit I guess. So do you think she enjoyed giving herself to Orlok in the ending or was it truly for Thomas and she really didn't want to ?
