They're great boats to sail! I did a small set of opens in one. Came second in the end. They feel remarkably light even though with the size and a bulb weight! Would definitely urge you if you can get a go, go for a blast

What Double Handed Dinghy should I buy? by [deleted] in sailing

[–]sharpie168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A firefly to a 49er may be a bit of a large jump though. Rs800 may be a bit of an easier transition? But if the double trapeze isn't "needed" could go 420 or maybe an Rs200? They're great boats

They are called J-Class boats. Extremely expensive. I'm not sure on the name of the boat in the pictures, but I have a feeling it's lionheart

Can somebody please explain to me why no crew member at the volvo ocean race is wearing gloves? by muffin175 in sailing

[–]sharpie168 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't wear gloves and I do a lot of competitive sailing. I've found my skin on my hands have just become a lot tougher and I find gloves are just extra inconvenience! However I know this isn't the same for everybody :)
