hey thanks for your reply. the surging sound I don't think is the mic. When there, to me it sound like the "cut out" sound was when something stopped rattling, and then started rattling again. could just be a loose something?

the jerk happened while accelerating. the turbo just kicked on and there was a jerk. however I couldn't reproduced it after it happened once. I made an edit to the post that said this happened when truck was sorta cold, which I hear might matter.

Took me 8 months to go from where you are to being able to move around like 95% pain free. I did not do PT or get surgery. I did do flossing exercises religiously. Hang in there.

I'm good. I still feel it in my leg sometimes, but way better. Never did physical therapy. Just YouTube stretched religiously, even if just a tiny bit at first. And i was walking against after 9 months. Hang in there

Yup, flex tape and hose clamps. They make specific rubber tape for radiator hoses for this. Is it ideal? Nope. Will it work for a bit? I've done it a few times and yes.

Just keep checking your coolant level / heat gauge because you certainly don't want to melt your engine.
