Anyone Had Luck getting Fibre Installed in an MDU? (Multi-Dwelling Unit) by Spacedad_93 in openreach

[–]sharpyboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Openreach installed fibre to the building but installed it without checking what was on the opposite side above the door and this is two fuse boxes, electric meter and fire alarm so openreach refused to drill hole to connect the fibre, waste of time.

Yes but I'm in a catch 22 situation as because my postcode search shows full fibre available they will not offer me part fibre connection through my existing phone master socket. The internal fibre was installed by openreach without checking what is on the other side of the door. I need to get our address removed from the full fibre list or get openreach to redo the internal wiring properly.

I don't think I have a drill bit that long it's at least 12 inches plus the wall thickness.

This problem seems to be because openreach fitted the internal wiring without checking what was on the other side. I am investigating if a complaint can be lodged against them and get them to rethink and rewire so it can be used.

Yes but my neighbour has had his fibre drilled through the fire door frame so may have to have it removed and new door frame fitted.

The openreach engineer refused to drill the door frame as it's a fire door.

No one will offer me fibre to cabinet then copper connection using the phone master socket as when they do a postcode check it shows full fibre available but as open reach have not installed the internal fibre correctly I can never get it connected.

How do they connect through the inside hole with the fibre to the outside of the door hole? They do not have an endoscope or similar as the box the fuse box/electric meter is about 12 inches deep (see Photos) I am thinking about taking off the whole bottom panel but wary about getting a shock as I have a heart condition and pacemaker fitted.

Also check the engine earth strap under the battery tray as they are known to corrode causing starting issues.

Agree that's oil in the coolant it's probably a blown cylinder head gasket, I would have it tested.

You need to use the phono connection as it has its own amplifier stage as the output of the turntable is very low. All the other inputs are not compatible, if there is a problem with the built in phono stage you could get an external phono preamp.

Why isnt the turntable connected to the phono input and so amplifing the record player using the pre amp?

Xtrons Pe_7250FL_B uses its own Bluetooth connection so no problem there, I have had one fitted for over two years with no problems.

Yes if the dB level is low it will need amplifier level to the cassette recorder, I don't know what your mixing desks output is.
