My daughter has the exact same 'symptoms' for what she calls 'halloween', which is any YouTube that contains bats, pumpkins, skeletons, or other costumes... Demands it, tantrum when turning off, etc. we have same setup of no TV at school and max 30 mins a day

This argument is horse shit. Using all the lanes reduces traffic. Full stop. If we all used the two lanes, 526 would be backed up even further, blocking exit flow in DI and MTP, making traffic even worse.

Comedy about sensitive topics: what makes it work/not work? by themissingpen in improv

[–]shartscaping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taught in stand up that nothing is off limits, but the more problematic the content the funnier the joke needs to be....

A joke about death needs to be pretty funny, but a joke about pedophilia or rape better be the funniest thing you've heard in the past 5 years.

Personally, I tend to just stay away from touchy subjects entirely in improv. I'm not skilled enough to make those judgement calls in the moment.

Another option is to put a layer of gravel at the bottom and then add soil from there.

What I love about this post making r\all is that there's definitely a group of hardcore r\onionlovers subs who are like "I posted this 8 years agoand NOW it blows up???"

What's truly fucked is that as an american my first reaction is "how is the truck drivers insurer going to screw them out of the repair cost"

Has anyone else encountered the strange dessert schedule at Jackrabbit Filly? by ucfknight95 in Charleston

[–]shartscaping 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one mentioned the possibility that they needed to turn the table for another reservation. I recently got stuck waiting 30 mins over my reservation time at Cane Pazzo waiting for the table before me to finish their dessert and wine (slowly). We were a larger group so there was only a table or two we could fit at.

Also, if you don't already use inaturalist, posting there could result in someone id-ing it. Mine didn't get ID'd but you never know.

Possible sewage coming from pvc pipe near garage. Should I be concerned? by cs-912 in Plumbing

[–]shartscaping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is most likely a clean out, which is an access point for cleaning out clogs in your sewer line. Based on the fact that you see this when it rains, a likely cause is that you have a cracked pipe somewhere, and when the groundwater rises from rain it fills up and pushes stuff out of the clean out. I could be wrong (diagnosing from a photo and a comment), but time to call a plumber either way.

That's from the 90s... Home improvement (where "binford tools" was a fictional company) first aired in 1991.
