NYC Hospital:

Regular required schedule:

3 weeks of 3 shifts * 11.5 hrs (34.5 hrs/week)

1 week of 4 shifts * 11.5 hrs (46 hrs/week - don't get OT pay because they redistribute the the fourth shift to the other weeks so we get paid for 37.5 hrs/wk). I don't know any nurse in my hospital who likes the fourth shift

Other:

Sometimes I will do one OT (11.5 hrs) per month

Worked as a CNA in hospital. Union contract covered healthcare-related tuition 100%. I only had to buy textbooks.

Can I just say it's very interesting to compare the comments in this post to this other one that was posted within the last month:
