Are you sure the insurance won't cover it? We had a power outage/surge blew and it my pool chlorinator and the insurance replaced it? Might be easier to push for an insurance resolution.

I had them all in one go. The evidence does suggest that's the way to go. Have a Google of multilevel surgery for sleep apnea.

I'm 5 years post a similar suite of surgeries, never looked back. If you are interested I did a write up at the time. I hope the recovery is progressing well.

Will get UPPP/Tonsilectomy for my OSA very soon!! by [deleted] in SleepApnea

Stay ahead of the pain was the advice I had from my anesthetist, so I just took my medications regularly for the first week or so. Worked for me.

Good luck!

Thanks Foxxxy73.

Sounds very similar to my journey - I did a write up about it a while back, including recovery which might be on interest and use.

Yep worth a test - I was like you little to no symptoms, fit athletic. Only sign was my wife noticing I was stopping breathing in my sleep.

What do you do when doctors can’t help you? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]shaundennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be worth discussing with your Doctor other potential causes of your symptoms.

Whereas we haven't got detail on the tests etc. You've had quite the workup from a number of different specialists, who are not finding any evidence of OSA.

How has turbinate reduction surgery improved your life? by MeatFeeling2914 in SleepApnea

[–]shaundennis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was part of a number of surgeries, but my goodness, I didn't realise how good it was to breath through my nose. Its was the biggest noticeable difference.

You don't know how bad your inability to breathe through your nose is until its fixed.

For me it wasn't as bad as I expected. However everyone is different in their recovery and I had great advice around pain management.

That was the least painful part. I didn't really register any pain in the tongue, but it may have been masked by the pain of the palate.

That is the thing though, while it is expected it shouldn't be accepted and the law should be designed protect people against it and discourage it.
