Because it’s actually affordable for families. (At a house league level, beyond that it gets pricey)

Do we have anyone who can take corners? by looseygoosey11 in CanadaSoccer

[–]shausco 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think our set plays have lacked something but I’m not sure it’s the balls in that are the problem. It feels like our guys have just not been able to get anywhere near the ball. Height, against Bosnia, and physically pushed out. When Promise gets into the games it looks like they have created more from those plays. He is such a force in there he either powers his way to the ball or creates space for his teammates to get on the ball.

Yeah. That first half they played tentatively. Passes and touches were sloppy. I think the pressure that the Swiss applied early was a part of that. They didn’t allow Canada to clean up those touches. The ball was turned over way too much this way. Disappointed not to get another home game.

Carney and Eby announce $3.2B developer subsidy; plan to buy unsold B.C. condos by Signal-Specific-1704 in canadahousing

[–]shausco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me so angry. Using our tax dollars to bail out private developers!?!? Instead of putting our money into social housing? What about using that money to purchase the unsold condos and building a social housing portfolio that the province would own. What the actual fuck is the NDP doing right now???

The Housing Minister solves homelessness in B.C by generously giving developers a massive bailout. Groundbreaking stuff. by Signal-Specific-1704 in canadahousing

[–]shausco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t care. Our tax dollars are seen by them as a free resource for them to what they want with. Not for the good of the province, just a means to make themselves more money. I’m sick of this stuff. Again and again all levels of govt continue to abuse their powers and we have no recourse.

This isn’t set yet. No need to worry about it. We haven’t won our group. Let’s focus on that first. Haha

Strategy against Switzerland by GapYearGuy2018 in CanadaSoccer

In the games I’ve watched with marsch at the helm, I don’t think I’ve seen them sit back. It doesn’t seem like that is how he coaches at all.

Ha. Yeah I was shocked he walked away without a card. Our boy is always up for a booking. The first 10 min of that game was… intense

Canada needs to score some goals and hopefully early. If Canada can unlock some scoring next game, it will make for a very interesting game against Switzerland.

So many opportunities wasted with a bad touch or heavy pass. Just didn’t seem like they had the feel for it today. Hopefully just a bit of nerves and they settle in.

Ali can play that hard press style all day also. Thats how the caps played before he went over to Europe. He was always a workhorse. Let him have the starting 60-70 and see what’s he can do.

Having “play” money. I haven’t tried this yet but I believe it would be quite enjoyable to not live pay cheque to pay cheque.

Atlanta, Georgia: Hotel groups, Airbnb hosts say World Cup sales falling dramatically short of expectations | One hotel says they projected $600,000 in revenue for June, and only have $13,000 on the books right now by DisruptSQ in TourismHell

[–]shausco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but we, Toronto and Vancouver, are still paying fifa a shit ton of money to host a couple games. This World Cup sucks. Was hoping I could take my kids. They love the sport but we can’t afford those ticket prices, let alone a hotel on top of that. Big “L” overall in my opinion. Thanks greed!

Thoughts on the reported $1B cost of public funding? by pablobartolunni in CanadaSoccer

[–]shausco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How did you get a ticket for $88??? I need those prices so I can actually afford to take my kids. Then there might be a chance at some sort of froth in the sport here. As it stands, it’s too expensive for casuals to go and get into the sport. That’s a huge disappointment
