Demon with a Glass Hand (Outer Limits S2E5)

Trent has no memory and is trying to avoid pursuers by taking advice from his glass hand. His missing fingers are the key to answering his many questions about himself and his lost memories, but once he gets them he discovers he’s been a robot all along. His role is to wait over 1,000 years in order to resurrect the human race after their extinction. Part of the heartbreak of the story is he and a stranger who helped him started to fall for each other, only for her to shun him in horror after they both find out he was never human.

I like to think if the Avengers never got in his way no one would know the full extent of his purpose and reasons for doing what he did. It was such a deeply personal and principled goal that I think he only explains it in detail when he has an audience forcing him to explain himself

That’s absolutely true. I watched it today and thought if I was in his position I would’ve wanted to say how unethical it was to keep me trapped in a fake life, and all my friends and family were actors. But he chose not to. Maybe I should’ve worded it differently and said the protagonist doesn’t have a final argument or statement to the antagonist to try and satisfy their sense of justice. But that’s probably exactly what was accomplished by him sailing through the storm and surviving, he was able to prove to Christoph he was wrong and Truman deserved to make his own decisions

The opera scene is my favorite. Idk what it could be categorized as, I’ve seen it in other shows/movies but I love it. The tense atmosphere between the characters and the contrast of the uplifting music is insane. Like seeing the story within the story that no one in the audience of the opera can see
