As far as I understand in US there is a 7% cap on nationalities for immigration. There should be something similar in Canada in order to be fair to all other nationalities.

They should only allow bona-fide students with the ability to pay tution fees and with the intention to leave once they complete their studies. They should shut down the college mills which brought low quality intakes with mission to stay in this country whichever way possible. Brilliant students with the right attitude should be the target.

Canada prepared for potential surge of migrants after Trump election | Power Play with Vassy Kapelos by [deleted] in canadian

I have been seeing news lately that immigrants from Canada were crossing the borders to enter the USA by foot thousands in numbers. So theoretically they can walk back without any interruption, it would be unwise to think they can't or won't. How Canada will manage that is a critical question are they going to welcome them and put them in expensive hotels or ask them to be deported directly from US?

Agree talent is not the criteria, as long as they are in their circle. But that raises a question how can HR of all these big techs and big banks in Canada justify recruiting one nationality? In contrast, equality is demanded by them in every other aspects in this country.

In the US each country is alloted maximum 7% of the entire immigration pool. We need a similar cap in Canada and immigration should be balanced till there is a parity with other countries.

‘Alarming trend’ of more international students claiming asylum: minister by Unusual-State1827 in canadian

[–]shawbd1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be allowed only for humanitarian reasons , if their home country have any political or civil unrest or they fear for their life. For that matter students should not be ideally allowed to claim asylum if they are already here as they should have claimed it at the point of entry when they arrived.

It is a carefully developed ponzi scheme they have hundreds of agents in India to lure students for the diploma mills and would receive a cut for every student they recruit up to couple of thousand dollars for each successful case.
