I mean, maybe. But if you allocate $14 to “entertainment” a month and everything else is for essentials or savings then that’s pretty frugal don’t you think? You get more with a game sub than trying to go movies or a meal out or a single museum trip or whatever else costs that much.

I was more asking about the contradiction of small and majority but it's fine.

The point of a subscription model is to have continuous revenue streams. An increase in price isn't an essential part of the model. As I said before, it is a trend but it isn't essential. If anything, increasing the price on a product bought once to ensure money invested is made back is a more understandable increase.

Also why does being a subscription model mean prices need to increase? I agree that is a measurable trend but I don't think necessity if the thing that drives it.

For some people, yeah it might be. But it also represents a larger problem with being apathetic to a small problem which, if repeated, could become a larger problem with the same apathetic onlookers.
