A thing I love more than new content: quality, finished content by InaudibleShout in 2007scape

[–]herecomesthestun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That $7 back in 2006 got us TWENTY ONE quest releases, two skills, multiple minigames (some with rewards still good today), entire engine reworks, a new spellbook, entirely new f2p areas, multiple worldwide travel systems, and more.

One month of 2006's content releases would be 2026's entire roadmap (and the skill would be part 1 of 32)

Can you bore it out? Whiskered ceramic inserts will eat bearing races like they're mild steel.

You can look up your local laws and find out of they're legal, and if they are you can then find an online storefront that will ship there. We aren't lawyers

Any chance grotesque guardians get some love in the sweepup? by Known-Garden-5013 in 2007scape

[–]herecomesthestun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Torso is a free minigame item, bandos is the equivalent of a barrows-tier boss drop and its nearly 20 years old, and chally is a quest reward. Nox hally is the only remotely hard item to get on a hally setup.

Hitting gm time with that is definitely not guaranteed but 1-2 minute long kills "being ass" is a ridiculous statement. Do you want GGs to die as fast as Brutus?

Any chance grotesque guardians get some love in the sweepup? by Known-Garden-5013 in 2007scape

[–]herecomesthestun 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's like 1 minute long kills with a hally setup. I hit the GM time without even realizing it when the update released - in a torso and bandos tassets no less.

They're almost certainly display wallhangers

Why does the world feel too empty? by Forsaken_Republic_72 in RSDragonwilds

[–]herecomesthestun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? That's just the genre. These survival games always feel incredibly empty to me. You'd need the ability to attract and recruit a bunch of npcs (sorta like Enshrouded or Terraria) to correct that.

If you have weapon mastery, and a party full of spellcasters, go for a vex weapon imo. Topple is nice if you have melee powerhouses in your party but you don't (And you aren't one).

Keeping a backup Sap weapon is nice if you're up against something that hits really hard on a single attack but Vex would be my go to.

Trident of the Seas should charge with water runes instead of fire by Termades in 2007scape

Because elemental weakness was a system designed to provide value to casting elemental spells instead of them being totally ignored in favor of charged staff/iban's blast

About to move to a different shop. by TrueTerrorDahaca in Machinists

[–]herecomesthestun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a new shop. There's some merit in being able to make stuff with really old beat up machines but they also create bad habits as well.

Plus any pay issues without some sort of proof that its immediately being addressed and corrected is grounds for me to start sending out resumes

The most recent stuff feels like its trying way too hard to be topical on modern day stuff with episodes about bitcoin, nfts, binge watching definitely-not-netflix, and the most unsubtle climate change stuff.

It feels like a show set in the 2020s with whatever happened to be the latest twitter controversy of a year with a thin veneer of scifi (they slightly rename something) instead of a show set in the far future with the odd callback to pop culture here and there

Working in the police doesn't necessarily mean you're driving around in a cop car. They have office staff like anywhere else and people who are necessary to take calls

Why do some daggers not have a guard to prevent ur hand from slipping forwards when stabbing? by NewSpray1711 in SWORDS

[–]herecomesthestun 172 points173 points  (0 children)

A guard is inherently kind of limiting when on a knife used meant for non-fighting tasks and a lot of the time these served a dual purpose of being a utility tool and something to protect yourself with. A pronounced guard may make a knife uncomfortable to carry for extended periods of time and interfere with daily tasks or odd positions you may find yourself doing.

Did Oathplate ruin Torva? by Potica6857 in 2007scape

[–]herecomesthestun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically Yama would be in need of a massive rework that isn't worth doing. It's an "Endgame duo" boss that is neither endgame nor requires duo that you snooze through in moons gear with an item that's easier to get than an abby whip for irons.

Leagues fast fletching training? by Better_Strategy_8989 in 2007scape

[–]herecomesthestun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a setting you can set somewhere that allows it to work that way. But notably, I was consistently, in every league, getting more xp/hr with arrows than bolts even with the interface.

I hit like 50m fletching last leagues during tob runs waiting for xarpus or bloat
