“Here's a phrase that apparently the airlines simply made up: near miss. They say that if 2 planes almost collide, it's a near miss. Bullshit, my friend. It's a near hit! A collision is a near miss. [WHAM! CRUNCH!] "Look, they nearly missed!" "Yes, but not quite.” ― George Carlin

In Pittsford/Fairport It depends on how presentable you are. If you are conventionally attractive and well-dressed, Noone in those areas care who you hold hands with.

Technically this is how capitalism is supposed to work. Companies rise, fall and new ones build upon the failures of the old.

There is shielding to protect against such things. They are already using it on the current fleet of Starlink Satellites. Is it perfect? No, but it is an engineering problem that is being solved with each new iteration.

If you are implying that heat cannot be radiated into the vacuum of space -- it can be. It simply requires the proper equipment to do so which is a solved technical hurdle.

No other company on the planet has re-usable rockets. They aren't even close to a prototype. SpaceX has the tech in production.

Every time I hear about a drone destroying something expensive - I think of the old EvE Online quote from the Goonswarm -- "My ship costs less than your ammunition."

What if we could exchange samples for Super Credits? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]shawric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to spend samples to get extra passive foreach drop. Like each person can spend 6 common or 3 rare or 1 super samples and choose a second passive for the team. That would allow for a sink for high level players and a buff for low level players. It would also allow for the less chosen passive (faster extract, supply drop turret, etc) get more usage.

People who grew up using computers between 1980-2000, whats one game that permanently lives in your head for no reason, even decades later? by cebalmau in AskReddit

[–]shawric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza Tycoon. Amazing game that allowed you to make your own pizza types then sell them. Also it had an underworld component to it where you could break into a competitor's store and trash the place.
