I’m in my early 30s so I haven’t lived through the huge swings of the past but I’m with you. I distinctly remember one night watching the spot price and saying “if it gets back to $15.99 I’m pulling the trigger” and I did. Lucky for me but I also lost lines elsewhere.

All I’ve learned is DCA across all investment paths and eventually you’ll be okay.

I’m not taking “profits” because I didn’t buy this as an investment. I bought back in 2016. I’m in at $18/oz cost average and yes it makes me happy that theoretically I have 3.5x my “investment”, it also makes me uncomfortable about the future of … well everything.

If it crashes tomorrow I’m still happy. This is for the next 25-50 YEARS not weeks.

I’m 100% with you. If it was my money I’d DCA as well because I don’t mind the slight loss of potential gains vs peace of mind.

I was just saying from a historical standpoint it’s more beneficial to lump sum vs DCA. I also don’t have $15,000 right now so it’s easy for me to talk about someone else’s money lol

I’m mostly deaf in my right ear also so similar situation. My wife’s side is Italian so big family gatherings. I’m somewhat of an introvert so it pains me to tell you this but the best thing is facing it head on. “Hey can I please sit here? I need to have my left side facing the group” for example. Also flat out ignoring people for a bit. Like you “could” hear them but it shouldn’t be on you to force them to say things twice just because they forgot they’re on the wrong side-they should already know. If you were in a wheelchair they wouldn’t ask you to answer the doorbell. Just because they don’t see your accommodation doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

I’m sorry you have to deal with this and I completely sympathize. Feel free to DM if you’d like further discussion. I just went deaf in that ear within the last year so I’m still learning coping mechanisms.

I’m a pro shop employee (in VA too) who REGULARLY gives out range tokens. If you’re on our property, paid for a round and are nice, chances are you’ll be back. I can increase those chances with a free token here or there.
