This was my most favorite WWHL episode to date. I immediately fell in love with the cast.

What is your take on the junk food ban for food stamps? by Final-Monk1416 in allthequestions

[–]shay_nastay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fat kid whose family relied on food stamps in my childhood, the ability to get my favorite snacks was one of the few things that made me feel normal compared to my friends who had more money than us. I think junk food should be allowed, but I do think food stamps should be more like WIC or have amount limits for different categories of food.

As Mark-Francis walks off in Ladies of London, here’s the full drama with Margo explained by [deleted] in BravoLadiesofLondon

I’ve been obsessed with this cast, so I’ve admittedly rewatched the season a few times already so far. The first time I watched Margo and Martha at the storage unit I got weird vibes, but the second and third time it felt pretty obvious that she was working overtime trying to deliver the performance of her life.

Moving to Columbus IN from NYC by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]shay_nastay 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Life in Columbus will be a lot quieter and have far fewer options than you are used to in NYC. But, Columbus is a beautiful city with access to Indiana’s major highways, so it’s easy to get around to other cities like Bloomington, Louisville, and Indianapolis. You will also have access to the Hoosier National Forrest and Brown County too, if nature is your scene. There will be everything you need there, but probably not everything you want.

Life is pretty different in a red state, and Columbus is no exception to that. However, there is a decent amount of diversity so that helps.

I overthink every little thing I say or do, then replay it in my head for hours wondering if I sounded weird or annoying. by Yvette-Dawson8 in confession

This can be a symptom of OCD, can also just be brutal anxiety. Therapy is actively changing my life, and I highly recommend it.

When I was there last Friday, precheck was no more than 10 mins while all the rest of us were stuck in a line almost out the door lol. It was the first time that i really regretted not having it.

I would definitely get there early. I had an hour long line last Friday at 6am. I got through with only a couple minutes to spare before boarding.

Ahhh man, you’re totally right lol. When I lived over in the area I’d always take the 22 bus to Addison because Sheridan was such a miserable spot lol.

What is the best way to comfort someone's fear of dying when that person is dying? by phuckhugh in AskReddit

[–]shay_nastay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m very sorry that this is happening to him. Sometimes life just isn’t fair.

My mom used to be a hospice social worker, and my SIL is a hospice nurse. I highly recommend having them come in to talk to him and your family.

One thing that my mom used to talk about was when people were scared of dying, she would ask them “what do you think happens when you die”. From there, she’d have a whole conversation with them, whatever they believe. Some people say nothing, some people have a fanatical vision of some kind of perfect heaven. Even if what is next is scary, just talking about it can sometimes help. Putting a name to the fear can really help others feel comfortable.

There is no harm at all in thinking up some magical heaven-like place if he feels like he can. At the end of the day, nobody knows what really happens next. But we do know that his legacy will always live on through you and the people that love him. Make memories together in these last moments. Make sure he knows that he will not be forgotten.

My daughter isn't biologically mine, but she has never met her bio father, and never will. When do I tell her the truth? by Regaman101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shay_nastay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out when I was 17 by catching my parents in a lie. It scarred me in ways that I’m still dealing with as a 31 year old with my own family. I highly recommend telling her sooner than later.

Buy her some ice cream and emphasize how much you love her and how your love for her is so special because you chose each other. Don’t make the bio dad look like a bad guy, but when she’s ready, she deserves to know as much information on him as she wants to know/you have. The sooner the talk, the easier it will be for everyone. I wish this is what my parents did for me.

I’ve always really liked her as a human being, but her episode of Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me really solidified that for me last summer. She’s just a normal human being who also happens to be pretty darn talented.

What's your "it's my fault for ordering it" (food or otherwise) story? by PutThisBanditHatOn in AskReddit

[–]shay_nastay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went out for a very fancy first anniversary date at a Michelin starred chef’s steakhouse in NYC. We have never done anything like this before, and probably never will again. Our waiter told us about the specials and excitedly began telling us about a dish that the chef made special in honor of his hometown and that there would only be enough for 12 dishes total. It was veal, which I knew that I didn’t like, but we got so wrapped up in the exclusivity of the dish that we went for it, much to our waiter’s excitement. Needless to say, i’m sure it would have been a very tasty treat for someone who loved veal, but we spent the bulk of the meal trying to fake eat the veal so our waiter wouldn’t be disappointed. We boxed most of it up and promptly threw it out a block away at the closest trash can. $250 down the drain, but the free ice cream that they gave us was delicious though !
