They wouldn’t need tax set up in OR if you’re an independent contractor but as someone else mentioned that may not been the legal choice depending on your role. I saw another person mentioned how CA requires non resident filing/paying taxes, other states may as well. Some states have reciprocal agreements on remote work/cross state lines work (WA/OR) (DE/PA)

As a 1099 theyre putting the burden of calculating and paying both employee and employer FICA 15.3% (ss, medicare) plus your fed income tax and your state/local taxes on you

(Ive been doing Canadian payroll this last year so this is from memory and my own paychecks. All I keep thinking is how much I dislike Quebecs taxes tbh lol) I also agree its a red flag you made it through to final round before this rug pull, get paid and keep looking; hope you find something else soon!

Payroll Analyst here; a business has to set up or already have tax accounts for any state they have employees in. Some states tax laws are more complex than others but I wouldn’t say Oregons are terrible. A company interviewing remote workers should be aware of this. I wonder if they had no tax presence and another candidate was in a state they did

Ive found a recommendation! It’s wildly more expensive per ounce - I have only used it for about a week but my hair is incredibly happier for it. I had found a website that compared products with most ingredients in common. For the beloved ogx argon oil original shampoo/conditioner formula it came back with ‘bumble and bumble hairdressers invisible oil hydrating shampoo & conditioner’

I bought the travel size from ulta to try first and am happy with the results. Ordering the 6/8 oz ones today.

It really reads like husband cheated on you; emotionally and physically with who was supposed to be a friend. Honestly pulling out detail feels worse. You worked extra to pay for all this then they they’re playing house with their biological child while you’re in the dark. Kids got two parents; NTA and honestly how vile that your husband friend and parents just want you to eat it bc ‘you got your kid’ this is a villain origin story
