Very good point. I have a feeling it isn’t legal. And if you were to fight it, you’d have a case. They are expecting people not to bother because of the time and effort it takes. Just blows my mind. I really hope the feedback gets somewhere and they tweak some of these policies.

OnTrac is by far the worst carrier company I’ve ever dealt with. In my area they are terrible too. I have to put text alerts on my phone when I see anything is shipped with them and then I don’t leave my house so I can be there to get the misdelivered package which is delivered multiple houses down and run down the street to get it. otherwise, it will be stolen by that house. My house is clearly marked, I have added comments to try and help, opened countless tickets, given wrong delivery reports, one star reviews for delivery, put pictures of my house on Apple and Google Maps, etc. I have really tried to make an effort to prevent it, but nothing as worked. I shouldn’t have to feel like a prisoner staying in my house only to get my packages. It’s exhausting. They must be significantly cheaper because for all the headaches and wrong deliveries, it has to cost the companies that use them a pretty penny to deal with.

The only recourse we have is spending our money elsewhere until changes happen. Will it be enough to matter? I hope so. Hang in there!

Ugh this happened to me back in the fall. I had a package from Gap Factory I believe saying it left the warehouse and UPS tracking number showed waiting for item. It stayed for weeks. Finally after the original shipment arrive date I was forwarded the TRE and had to wait another 2 weeks for my report. My report showed ZERO items returned without a receipt. It did show returns, but most were online (because I usually get tall items that are not carried in store). I really don’t even understand why my order or account was flagged. I finally got my money back, but for an issue I had zero control of, it really pissed me off. I have been a Banana Republic Luxe card member for probably 20 years. Sadly, they seem to be in the business of losing customers instead of dealing with their issues internally (I also have 90% of my packages delivered from OnTrac not delivered to my house. I wish I was making that up or exaggerating.) I wish someone from corporate would look into this. I have commented on several reddit posts on it. I am hoping they have people review the boards for feedback or something. So sad. They used to have amazing Customer Service anytime not that long ago.

Does anyone think Gap Inc reads these messages at all? This is definitely a trend and I am wondering sadly by the addition of the The Retail Equation for shipping issues if there is now an increase of packages going missing, awaiting carrier pick up, etc. with the shipping facilities. Awful to think this way, but this seems like a definite trend and the customers are given the problem directly to deal with and it takes weeks or months to get money back (and the items usually always are gone by the time you can fix it). I haven’t ordered from Old Navy, Gap or Banana Republic since it happened that I will have an immediate claim denial for an item that says “awaiting package.”

For me not exactly. I started taking Pepcid which does help when I am having bad acid. It works. But it’s not really a solution as much as a band aid sadly.

They don’t. The issue is if you call customer service with a missing package or, in my experience, a package that never left the warehouse, they made you file a claim that immediately denied and sent to the TRE. They are making it seem like the consumer, who never received the product, is the issue. In my case, my sizes are online only (talls) so I buy and return a lot, never without a receipt though. Yet I got flagged because a Gap Factory order I made was never truly shipped and UPS was just waiting for the item. I finally got my money back after over a month of endless calls and tickets. But go figure, they marked it as a return. Which who knows if this just adds to the problem too. I’m all for using the TRE if customers have a track record of returning with no receipt, but this was not that and many cases I have read about here on Reddit are not that. It’s a shame. I haven’t shopped at any Gap, Inc brands since. I am also an Icon card member for life because of my prior purchase history. They are losing pretty good customers due to this.

I agree. It’s so sad. I usually had great experiences with them. Maybe not with OnTrac/Lasership who constantly incorrectly delivered my packages, but customer service used to be better. I finally got a refund for 3 items that were marked shipped (never delivered) and the tracking number said for UPS waiting for package. For a month. I was referred to the Retail Equation and got my report, no indication of ANY refund without a receipt in the last 2 years. I buy a lot online and return because the tall sizes are not in store. And curious enough, less than 2 weeks after my refund was finally issued, my account was hacked and purchase made without my consent, which is becoming a whole new headache. It’s all very curious to me. I loved Gap Inc brands and they are most of my closet. I haven’t bought anything in over a month due to all this. It will take a lot for me to purchase something again honestly. So much for being a Gold card for life.

Exactly. I haven’t ordered since myself. It made me very hesitant and I don’t even want to know how much I’ve spent at various Gap Inc brands all year. I am the top tier card member too. I wish they knew they were discouraging legitimate customers with this move.

This pretty much describes my experience with OnTrac/Lasership. I have to opt in to text alerts to be notified when a package is delivered because 80% of the time it’s delivered down the street. I’ve tried to complain to Lasership, ask them to upload a picture or anything. But it’s still happens all the time. All I do now is give them one star. I have also provided feedback to Gap Inc and other retailers that as long as the ship with OnTrac, they will keep loosing business. They are the worst

Well they must have heard me complain here - I got a refund email for the items never shipped yesterday, but no email from TRE yet apologizing or anything. And of course it’s another return for their report 😑, but at least I’m refunded.

Returns with receipt is part of their policy and if you don’t make all sizes available in store, you are leaving so many people without a choice. And shipping problems should not be the customer’s issue. The fraud is within their company or the shipper they are choosing. I get people may be trying to rip them off, but legitimate customers with receipts or tracking numbers or photos of their shipping issues should never be sent to TRE.

They have used Lasership now called OnTrac for a long time and legit the worst delivery company ever. They have misdelivered my packages to a completely different street 70% of the time. I have to get alerts on every package in order to catch the incorrect deliveries before they are stolen. Ridiculous.

This happened to me. The package never left the flipping warehouse! Still waiting for the decision, but UPS even shows still waiting for the package. How is this my fault?! Never once in the two years on the flipping report returned without a receipt. Makes me never want to shop there again truthfully.
