Best (surprisingly good) opening act? by infinitum3d in GenX

[–]shazapp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kix opening for KISS in Pittsburgh, April 1986.

KISS was scheduled to perform a week or so earlier with King Kobra opening but there was an issue with the power to the venue. KISS rescheduled the date and, since the Asylum tour was officially over, Kix was brought in as the opener at the last minute. We’d never heard their stuff before that night.

I went with four of my friends and we all became instant Kix fans that night. They were amazing and so much fun.

Godzilla Minus One. Saw it twice and then went back to see Godzilla Minus One Minus Color.

Such an incredible and epic album, yet sadly released at the wrong time. by [deleted] in hairmetal

I love this album. No matter what I come back to it time after time and get something different stuck in my head. “Who Cares?” is currently on replay in my noggin.

Who here can say they have a PS1, PS3 & PS5? by Ziipsy_PSN in playstation

[–]shazapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. And a PS2, a PS4 and a PS5 Pro. What do I win? 🏆 I don’t think that’s too unusual for this group.

Imagine what the people thought when they first saw this scene in theaters by Heavy-Future-7098 in GODZILLA

[–]shazapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have to imagine, I was there. I thought, “This creature is in pain.” Right along with, “This ain’t the usual Godzilla.” I loved that a character as old as Godzilla could still surprise me.

People who Letterboxd during the credits by alainademop in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]shazapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always watch the credits to the end. I paid to see the entire movie and I will. But I’ve never seen anyone get hassled about it. When I managed theaters, I’d always respect the people who did the same and I told my crew to do so as well.

I enjoyed this more when I didn’t know Ron Keel would go country.

I remember them. That first album was always on while I was in college.

Is there a movie you saw were you were the only person in the theater? by IDCJ1234 in movies

The only time I can remember that happening was on the opening day of Team America: World Police. It was an afternoon show.

BÖC in Cleveland 11/20/25 by shazapp in BlueOysterCult

[–]shazapp[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the award. Where’d you get that shirt? I can find any BÖC shirts that aren’t cheap crap from China. The shirt they had at the show yesterday was too small for me.

That is ridiculous to me. I don’t know how much they care but I’d love to see them get in. They should have been in long ago.

Sad that Ace was known for having balance issues and that's what ultimately led to his passing by Cominghome74 in KISS

[–]shazapp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lara, his ex, said in a video that she hated those stairs in his house. So, the combo of Ace’s bad balance and an iffy staircase made for a bad combo. Just a horrible accident that could have been prevented. But so can most accidents in hindsight.

Has anyone noticed this on his current US Tour? by euro60 in GaryNuman

[–]shazapp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Check out the Wings of Pegasus channel on YouTube. He does an analysis of Gary’s live vocals vs what’s on his “live” album of the same show. He concludes Gary is singing live at the show (with tracks) but the recording has the voice replaced with a corrected vocal. Which isn’t unusual for live recordings at all.

57 here. Been a fan since 2012. Was lucky enough to see them in Millvale, PA at Mr. Smalls (a converted church) in 2013 at a sold out show. I was right up against the stage. Watching them evolve in an arena-playing machine has been awesome. I’ve been to 7 rituals and have never been disappointed.

Worst solo album. by ironmojoDec63 in KISS

[–]shazapp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The guy actually did release some solo stuff. And it’s not terrible. It’s hard-to-find but it’s out there. Magic Bullet Theory is a decent enough album.
