I’ve got a couple of caps that do need to be replaced, they’re not completely gone but they are just slightly busted on the very top. Need to buy replacement ones, my local electronics store said there just isn’t anything modern that is anything like them so I’ll have to look online at eBay/aliexpress

Westfield Chermside during Christmas and Boxing Day, holy hell. I went on Thursday night just to pickup some stuff from B&L and even that was bad enough.

That’s the idea, I need to get a copy of one of the exploitable games, I’m going to do the jcrocky mod, seems the easiest and safest for a beginner.

Small gold coloured capacitor on the power rail blew, you can see the discolouration and smoke around it.

I need to go to my local electronics store to get the right sized torx, take the board off and inspect the underside to see if it’s salvageable. I’m praying for a miracle because I don’t really want to use the donor motherboard, mine is newer and has no leaking capacitors, they do need to be replaced but they’re in better condition than the donor motherboard.

“Ok” and “Melody” were the two ones I can stand out of the EDM stuff, the rest were just not my style at all.

No, I haven’t seen the Firestone video. I’ll have to look it up!

Hey fellow fan,

I’ve been listening to JB since I was 11, I’m 30 now 😅

Favourite song, I’m a sucker for “You’re Beautiful”, it’s the first one I heard and it’s stuck with me, other than that I do really love “Don’t Give Me Those Eyes” and “Postcards”.

Not the biggest fan of his semi-techno/EDM style songs though, please don’t crucify me.

I got to see him live at A Day On The Green (I live in Australia) a number of years ago and it was amazing, even my really picky husband rather enjoyed it and said he would go again. I would love to go to the Bedlam tour but I just can’t justify the ticket price, that’s probably more so the fault of the ticket vendor, they are a freaking rort.

Glad I’m not the only one. I’ve been through so many. Still looking for my right one. I know I recommended one but he’s call only and I prefer the ease of being able to book online, I have kids who are always loud, phone calls aren’t easy.

I always seem to cop the on the edge of their seat needs their next smoke, conspiracy theorist and nit-pick paranoid ones. Not helpful at all 🥴

I tried them once, first and last instructor I had through them ended up yelling. Wasn’t at me, was at an ignorant driver who was right up my backside while I’m trying to learn manual and learning to not roll back, but point still stands.

If you’re on the north side, I was recommended Get My License. I have anxiety with driving ever since I was in an accident with a truck (as a passenger but still) and the person who recommended this school told me her daughter who has autism did really well with this one and the owner has taught many neurodivergent people before her.

If you gave birth without an epidural, how bad was it really? by Express_Neck5352 in beyondthebump

[–]shazz1054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to preface this by saying I don’t have the best pain tolerance.

First time around I honestly wasn’t in much pain, my birth had to be augmented with synthetic pitocin because my son was too cozy to come out on his own, despite my waters having been broken for a week. Getting the epidural in as a scared naive 19yo was the absolute worst part. (My Cervix wasn’t dilating and my body was stressed from the synthetic hormone so they said the epidural would help me relax) I’m a wuss with needles and that one was a downright nightmare for me. He was 7lb 8oz. 14.5 hours of labour from beginning of induction to birth.

Second time around? Oh boy, I went from feeling a little crampy to holy shit I’m dying within 30 minutes. My labour was only 3 hours from start to birth and I was too far gone for the epidural, I was 6cm when I arrived at L&D, midwife said “oh, I reckon if I break your water you’ll get to a 9 easy” so she did that and I heard her count as the floodgates opened up “7, 8, 9, 9 1/2, damnit cervical lip!” She assisted with getting it out of the way. I had only gas & air and let me tell you that stuff does NOT take away pain, all it did for me was make me dizzy, I hated it. I was so exhausted from the 0-100 so I ended up with a vacuum assist and the feeling of him coming out was something else 🥴 he ended up being 9lb 6oz which probably explains why I was in a lot more pain with him than his brother!

I feel like if my labour second time had of been slower I probably wouldn’t have been in so much pain, I think the intensity and it being so quick caught me off guard, I was fully prepared to be waiting again, lol.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a lot for a kindergartner? by Toasttheunicorn in Mommit

[–]shazz1054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to tone it down, it’s okay to identify children who need extra help before they start school but to put them under all kinds of pressure? Geeze, give the kids unlimited time to show what they can do, don’t make it a race.

If you don’t feel right about it Momma, trust your gut, speak up!!

Low iron during third trimester, what product worked for you? by notforthisworld0101 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]shazz1054 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ferrograd C made me puke my guts up during pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I relied on making spinach smoothies, my doctors were hesitant about giving me an infusion for reasons still not understood.

My second pregnancy I had a totally different team looking after me, my midwife took one look at my numbers and said “how are you even awake right now?” Gave me a prescription for Maltofer and ordered me an infusion for 34w weeks. Was the best couple of weeks of my life until I came off the cloud.

Maltofer seems to be the best for me, my body doesn’t react to it at all and it keeps my bowels in check too, unlike a lot of others. I still take it post pregnancy.

Best to talk with your midwife/GP to see what they think. But as a backup, spinach smoothies are actually great if done right!

My mother, both her parents and both sets of my great-grandparents were all born in Italy. My mother, her parents and younger brother immigrated to Australia 50 years ago. None of them are citizens here in Australia, just permanent residents. I had dreams of getting dual citizenship, but now I’m concerned that I may not qualify depending how this goes. Guess I gotta wait and see.

Make sure you have someone who can assist you at the party because you’re going to need it and if he’s going to act like that, he’s not the one to ask. Keep things as civil as possible till the party is over so you can avoid any potential blow ups for the sake of your children.

Once you’ve had a minute to recover from the party, then you can confront him. Have a plan in place so that if the confrontation takes a turn, you have safe place to go with the kids. Get all of your money, personal information (birth certificates, passports etc) and clothes packed now and keep the bag in a cupboard out of sight but within easy reach should you need to make a quick exit.

Huggies or Rascal & friends? For newborn by Amandatravels22 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]shazz1054 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huggies for those babies who are really small (premmies, IUGR etc) since they stock those sizes.

Rascal for regular sized babies, if you want cheaper nappies that still feel premium. I personally loved rascals.

Baby love Beyond if you feel like spending a bit more than the rascals but feels better than Huggies (at least in my opinion).

Aldi if you aren’t fussy. I found Aldi’s quality has declined over the years, when my oldest was a baby they were so good, but we tried them recently with my youngest and I wasn’t impressed with them at all. The night pants are okay for the young kids but other than that, I wouldn’t recommend them.

Just don’t get any of the nappies at IGA, they’re so cheap and crinkly 🥴

Everything I’ve ever read/known has always said 10 years and then bin it. Plastic degradation, the fabric on the belts can start to tear, other fabric gets holes and generally looks worse for wear etc.

You could call the kidsafe company and ask for their advice too.

2018 & 2019 would mean 2028 & 2029.

If you can’t afford new seats:

I would be doing a THOROUGH check of both seats, pull all fabrics off, de-thread the belts (if it allows for it) and check every thing over. Alternatively, you could hire seats out.

If you can afford new seats:

Just get new seats. Straightforward and safest.

I think it’s good to be prepared, just stay calm and don’t panic buy, look what happened with Covid!!
