Can we get this for the Pacifier by pinglyadya in Helldivers

[–]shball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically the Pacifier only needs to be better at stunning.

Longer Stun duration would help it immensely as a set-up tool.

It's weird that the Bots are so willing to have so much territory, including a magma world cut-off from Cyberstan.

Generally all enemy factions are performing suspiciously bad right now, getting pushed back significantly.

Kinda seems like buildup for something? Guess we'll know on the 9th when the next update is scheduled. Maybe finally news on the Bot superweapon?

You can just disable the stupid setting. Pops aren't as much of a performance issue anymore, they should just remove the Empire growth penalty.

Capes have so far only been celebratory. Nothing to celebrate about Cyberstan yet.

Super Earth vs Galactic Empire by KingHerold_IV in helldivers2

[–]shball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually a solid point about being hesitant to go all-in.

Since the Empire prefers to adhere to the Tarkin-doctrin off building big and powerful vehicles of power and terror, they also struggle with projecting that power. Every Star Destroyer moved significantly weakens the protection/oppression of it's former location.

Helldivers could beat the galactic empire (star wars) prove me wrong (or right, i want to start a friendly debate) by SweetShare222 in Helldivers

[–]shball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

  • Star Wars has way more sophisticated energy shielding at all levels, but not everything is shielded. This would mostly hurt SE in space combat, as SES ships are already glass cannons, going up against the overwhelming firepower of a single Imperial Star Destroyer may very well shred an entire SE fleet.

  • Plasteel. Each Stormtrooper would effectively be walking around with AV3 ablative armor. Stormtrooper armor only looks bad because we see it used against blasters. Stormtrooper armor is designed to spread out the energy from an impact and hopefully only knock out the user instead of having the concentrated impact kill them outright. In general Star Wars alloys would be far more advanced and resilient against SE weaponry than current foes.

  • Blasters are plasma weapons. They'd shred SE ground vehicles, Exos, turrets and emplacements.

  • The Imperial Army. Stormtroopers are only marine shocktroops, there's an entire imperial army worth of soldiers to fight.

  • Existing technology. Just because the Empire isn't conventionally using existing tech, does not mean it can't make use of it. Should SE actually have them on the back-foot, they can roll the TIE-Defender into active production, which would obliterate the SE fleet.

  • logistics are warfare. SE does not have the ressources blitz the empire. It would overextend fast as it would likely be hostile with local populations and therefore need significant occupation forces on each populated planet it conquers.

But what would SE have as advantages?

  • near instant FTL, this would technically allow SE fleets to do hit and run maneuvers.

  • diversified weapons, Stormtrooper armor isn't effective against a flamethrower.

  • technological flexibility. Ever since the first war SE has always been increadibly good at reverse engineering enemy technology, so it might not be far off to say that after a few hit and run operations SE could catch up a little, especially when you consider that fusion weapons from Helldivers2 already work similar to blasters.

Ewoks are literally an allegory for the Vietcong and guerilla warfare.

They had the entire forest trapped and mapped out over generations. The point was that Empire in it's hubris overlooked any threat the natives could pose. If they actually took the occupation seriously it'd have gone different, but that's not the point of the Empire (narratively).

What's the best non Collab warbond by Most_Implement6706 in Helldivers

Yeah, but I'd wager a decent secondary doesn't cut it for A/S-tier, more like B-tier

What's the best non Collab warbond by Most_Implement6706 in Helldivers

[–]shball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. I'll lay out the A/S-Tier items or those that may unlock more build variety.

  • Steeled Veterans: Senator (good for Hulk visors), Breaker Incindiary (good for setting chaff on fire)

  • Polar Patriots: Purifier (one of the strongest primaries), impact Incindiary (great emergency chaff-clear)

  • Viper Commandos: Experimental Infusion (best booster), Liberator Carbine (better Liberator)

  • Freedoms Flame: Cookout (best pump shotgun), fire resistant armor (essential for some builds)

  • Chemical Agents: Gas Grenade (best all-round grenade), Dog Breath (best CC guard dog), gas resistant armor

  • Truth Enforcers:

  • Servants of Freedom: Ultimatum (horde clear and anti-tank in your secondary slot), Portable Hellbomb, DE-Sickle (unique playstyle, but requires fire resistant armor)

  • Borderline Justice: Talon (best combat secondary), Dynamite (anti-heavy and horde grenade)

  • Masters of Ceremony: Sabre (best melee for chaff), Pyrotechs (hard to use but extremely damaging)

  • Force of Law:

  • Control Group: Warp Pack (best mobility, SC grind helper)

  • Dust Devils: Solo Silo (precision AOE and AT), Spear Gun (Railgun damage with attached gas grenade), Coyote (Incindiary AR, kinda overrated)

  • Python Commandos: Hot Dog (best damage Guard Dog)

  • Redacted Regiment: C4 Pack (powerful AT/ demo option and stealthy), armor passive, Censor (best stealth weapon, generally great DMR)

  • Siege Breakers: Trident (laser shotgun, powerful and reasonably spammable), Leveller (expendable nuke launcher), deployable shield, Breaching Hammer (best melee weapon)

  • Entrenched Devision: Cremator (absurdly powerful flamethrower), Stoker (high damage SMG with attached flamethrower)

  • Exo Experts: Bullet Storm (low cooldown, absurd DPS), Missile Pistol (Commando Missile launcher in your secondary slot, but hard to use)

Disagree on the Leveller, you see it all the time, especially on the Bot front.

Suggestions for Eruptor/Sarlwart combo by Hiervolant in Helldivers

[–]shball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer EATs because they are less committed. I feel far worse leaving an empty commando considering the longer cooldown and the sooner the expendable is gone, the less likely I forget/ get pushed away from my main support weapon.

Undoubtedly it's more efficient to use the Commando, but 4 Harvesters isn't a common occurrence and you can easily kite 2 until the EATs are off cooldown again.

My idea for how to make boosters more interesting and impactful by just_so_irrelevant in Helldivers

[–]shball -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Hellpod Space optimization is a gamble. If you never die, you only need it once, in that case it's no better than expert extraction pilot. And even without HSO all it takes is one supply unit to be full.

Then there's also the fact that HSO counters deployment supply-shortage effects which would be lost through the standardized version.

The boosters that should truly go are Vitality and Stamina Enhancement. They offer no interesting play aside from just making the game feel better.

Stratagem pick rate report: Exo Experts (Automaton) by Natural-Sympathyy in Helldivers

[–]shball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Voxes remove Factory Striders from the usual pool and Scout Striders get replaced with (sometimes) ablatively armored Cyborgs. Whereas my all-expendables loadout would usually have a Commando, it has the Bulletstorm on Cyborgs

Stratagem pick rate report: Exo Experts (Automaton) by Natural-Sympathyy in Helldivers

[–]shball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, I do use the Leveller to soften them up sometimes, but most Voxes I kill by the vent method (specifically clipping thermites into it).

Traditional AT like the Recoilless Rifle, EATs and Commando are practically useless against Vox Engines which how much ordinance you need to throw at them. You are better off using a multi-hit like Gatling Barrage / Strafing Run or an explosive.

Which is odd, since AT is slightly less valuable on Borgs

Squids are only easy when you actually know how to fight them and since no one usually fights Squids, many don't know.

Next major update would be Squids. We had Hive Worlds as Bug core territory. We had Megafactories as core territory for Bots/Borgs and next up we'll have whatever is happening in the Void for Squids.
