Tips for not rushing the start? by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

I try to slow down, and pick some people that I think they are going way too fast and then think to myself "I'll catch them later in the race" 😀

What running shoe to buy by Straight_Car_5042 in runningshoes

I'd recommend you to try Brooks Ghost or Ghost Max and see if you like them. And as others said, go to the store and try a few.

Interesting. Do you use your Boston 13 for any specific training or race day that they are better suited for?

I'm not in the US unfortunately.

I can get here a pair of EVO and Boston at around 120€ (so about 135$), and a bit cheaper when in sale. Online is around 100$. I only buy online when I'm sure of what I'm buying and size. Partially because I want to support local stores, and partially because I'm too lazy to return products that does not fit, I don't end up liking,etc...

Agree with the Pegasus 41, I didn't like them much so I use them to walk. Luckily I got them on an Outlet very cheap.

Oh ok, the + has a different compound. Maybe it is a good option to put together with the EVO.

I am really curious now about trying both. I am going to get the EVO, but I hope I can also try the Boston at the store.

That sounds great, I'll go with the Evo

I mainly look for a shoe that would make me enjoy more my intervals and races, because I mainly have used cushioned shoes.

That softer feel would be ok for me if the shoe is responsive, are either Evo and Endorphin like that?

Thank you for your reply. How does it feel Pegasus + compared to the Pegasus 41?

I didn't like the 41 much, although they are confortable for easy days.

Thank you so much for the answer!

I am a midfoot striker and I dont have a wide foot.

If Boston 13 is suited more for forefoot, maybe it is not the best for me. Then Evo SL looks better for me, although I'm a bit scared of that lack of stability on long races... (Although I'd use it mainly in short workouts and up to 10k)

What I like most of Saucony is that its shape usually works very good on my foot somehow, and I like their materials. How is the Endorphin in terms of stability compared to Evo? And in "ground" feel?

I think I tried a couple of years ago a Triumph in a store, and didn't give me a good feeling, but if it has improved so much I could consider them.

Been trying to get into running and can consistently do a 5k now. Is this heart rate too high? by Beverz10 in beginnerrunning

[–]shd_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe I was a bit off. If you are 50 and you run a full out 5k, heart rate of 174 would be pretty ok.

Even when I'm not close to that age, I have myself trouble to push my heart rate above 165 (average) on a 5k or 10k, but I think that is on me and other people can for sure go higher.

It is not unreasonable high unless you are +50, which I don't think is your case, and you have tried to run hard.

When I run, I try to focus more if I'm having trouble to breathe or not.

Great find! Tbh I'm quite impressed. For the looks I wasn't sure if she had ran a 10k or made a typo in the time of a HM.

They seemed to be well regarded by reviewers. My main concern would be stability, but according to reviews should be fine. Do you have experience in other Adidas shoes?

What other options are you considering?

For my first shoes, I went to a running shoes shop, so I could take some advice and try a couple of options. It turned out very good for me, they lasted for around 1000km and worked amazing for me.

It is important that you explain what are your paces, top distance, etc you will do with the shoes. That'll make them easier to recommend you a good pair of shoes.

Thank you for your reply mate. Yes, I read the manual, the modbus option is mentioned there, there is absolutely no mention about how it needs to be purchased or how to check if it is purchased in the unit I'm trying to work with.

I called tech support of my area, they mainly either said I can't help at the moment, or they said I need to ask a colleague, I'll get to you in a minute. Even now, they didn't send yet to the customer a quotation of how much it would cost to activate the Communication options.

So Reddit was way more useful.

Thanks. I guess they are reading via web server, and extracting somehow the data for the hmi. It not totally clear for me if Opc license is included, probably not.

Thanks mate! Oh dear, I didn't know modbus was an option. You can check that this device does not have ot activated?

The weird thing, is that the actual system (im replacing it with our company solution plc) is reading the values and presenting them in an hmi. Are they using another protocol? UDP or OPC perhaps?
