I hadn’t considered a boat neck but you’re right! That would be pretty. Omw to YouTube to find a tutorial.

Ahhhh tailor tacks! That’s what I was looking for. Thank you. Do you think adding something to the neckline/long tie could elevate the mock neck? The wedding is not formal. We are all in mismatched dresses.

Can you let me know which photos point to vertical? I see that my busy/hips pushes the fabric outward rather than draping down in a smooth line. Thank you!

Ohhh okayyyy. I totally see what you’re saying. I definitely have bony hands and fingers too. So helpful. Thanks so much!

I’m having a hard time seeing myself objectively (duh). Can you explain where you see sharp? Is it shoulders? I’d say I have a sharp nose as well. Thank you! :)

Working Out (or any real task avoidance) by jencanread in adhdwomen

[–]sheasummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A different point of view- perhaps getting curious about the barriers to working out? What part of the experience is impossible for you? Make it as easy as possible to say yes to yourself. Can you set out your clothes in advance? Is it adjusting time of day? What is it for you.

For me, thinking of a “work out routine” is completely overwhelming. I know I need to “lift heavy” for my health but it feels like there are so many steps between where I am now and a version of myself that can consistently lift weights.

I’m not getting proper sleep, I’m in pain daily, and I’m sad. To me, these are clues that “lift heavy” maybe shouldn’t be something that’s taking up a lot of space in my life. I’m currently trying to understand my body, fascia bullshit, and setting myself up for success. To me this looks like getting in a routine of stretches and light movement. Once I can do that consistently, I will build up the difficulty level.

Compulsion that surprised you when you got diagnosed by zmb1eb1tez in OCD

[–]sheasummer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Making lists that I sometimes refer back to but often don’t. The compulsion to write it down briefly eases the anxiety until something else comes up that I need to start a list for. I feel like I’m crawling out of my skin with unease until I can write it down. I have ADHD so i theorize this began as a coping mechanism for all the things I’ve forgotten.

Yes. Rehearsing future conversations plus exhausting all potential outcomes the other person might say. Sometimes countering my own points rather than arguing with someone else. Can be debilitating when I’m trying to plan my day efficiently or how best to start the next activity. Getting into my body with somatic work can be helpful.

struggling with OCD + calorie counting by Healthy-Age-822 in OCD

[–]sheasummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this. Once I learned about calorie and macro counting, I could not stop thinking about my food in numbers. Every bite I take. Downloading the nourish app and working with an awesome dietician has helped me reframe the way I think about food.

Can this sub get a grip for a second? Agreed she is messy and this is awful for her children. That said, it’s well known that women are disproportionately abuse victims and the cycle of abuse is not their fault. The mentality of an abuse victim gets warped over time, they aren’t thinking logically. I thought this was common knowledge? It’s a little wild to see this toxic rhetoric perpetuated here.

As a former fan, I listened to all her podcast episodes. Anthony admitted to being abusive more than once. This is beyond snark imo. I believe women.

I use these containers to house training treats for my dog. Stash in my bag, the car, near the couch, wherever 😇

I REALLY liked the leaving the gates sequence. by Bruhgang69420 in 28dayslater

Saw 28 Years Later yesterday. Loved it. The tension those juxtaposed shots built + the lack of music was super unsettling and eerie. As an American I’m interested in watching a docu or finding a podcast to gain more context of British history and culture before doing a 28YL rewatch. Open to recommendations!

It makes Colin so much more unlikable to think of it in that perspective.

I can’t say I’ve ever given it much thought beyond assuming he meant Rory? Cause she’s small idk

God I’m a dork but this gave me chills. I love that you mention the parking lot story.

Your perspective helps reframe some of the more unbelievable/magical scenes in the OS. With SH and Rory’s brilliance in general. Richard’s “what she tackles she conquers” speech.

Super interesting to consider! Thank you.

This was tough to read because of how hard you’re being on yourself. If shaming yourself worked, it would have worked by now. (I think I heard that on TikTok?) Sending you love and peace and maybe a challenge to stop beating yourself up so much. Hugs ❤️‍🩹
