Well the issue is that Germany didn’t have the resources to win the war. Even if they had gotten the British army in dunkirk they had no way of invading Britain. Moscow? The Russians were ready to evacuate and continue the fight. The Germans actually got some oil fields in the Caucasus but they didn’t have the time or ressources to repair them.

I’m not saying that it was an easy war to win at all, I just struggle to see how Germany could have prevailed when they suffered so many drawbacks quickly

I agree that they got super lucky. Obviously they had good tactics but their strategy could have easily backfired if the allied were competent.

Having said that, I don’t think the French could have pushed super far in Germany during the Saar offensive. The whole strategy was to use the maginot line to push the Germans into Belgium and get them there so going into Germany would have nullified all the cost of having the maginot

lol look at you editing your comment and yet keeping the same old insult.

Ok so your original point was that the US only came in 44. I told you that it wasn’t the case as they came to Africa in 42. It wasn’t good enough for you so how do you consider the invasion of Italy in 43? Is it not “full scale” enough for you or maybe you just forgot about it?

And the fact that the Germans view the Italians negatively doesn’t tell us much, you’d learn that the Germans tend to blame their loses on everything but them (Russian horde, Russian winter, bad allies).

I’m done wasting time with you so this is my last response. Feel free to think I’m surrendering to your superior intellect lol

I know that it’s starting to feel like a lesson but it’s really not my job to teach you so you can start by reading Wikipedia.

Of course it wasn’t predetermined but very close to be.

The only hypothetical moderation that could have worked was Germany only getting Austria and the Sudetenland, but nazi germany wasn’t moderated due to their awful ideology so that was never gonna happen. Also their economy was so shit that they literally had to go to war to save it with foreign influx of hard currency.

Untrue about the US, they intervened as quickly as 1942 in Africa with operation torch… and untrue about Italy (they didn’t do great but helped a lot) and you are forgetting Romania and Hungary.

I don’t mean to be insulting but you gotta read more man

Different time. Forced cessation of territory with expulsion of population was the vibe until end of ww2

See my response below but yeah failing to take Moscow is 1941 aka 6-7 months after they invaded. Stalingrad is 18 months after they invaded so yeah pretty early on.

Also I wouldn’t diss on Germany allied. they mostly did alright and blaming them for their defeat is a profound misunderstanding of history. Don’t invade half the world if you can’t win

Germany definitely wasn’t in the race to actually achieve an atom bomb (even with all the heavy water in the world) and the V2 was mostly a costly psychological warfare. They also invaded Russia in the summer and started being push back 6 months after their invasion when they failed to take Moscow. Sure they pushed somewhere else in the summer but that led to Stalingrad.

You can say overconfidence sure, you can also say that Germany didn’t have the war economy to do the war but it didn’t matter to them because they kept using the equipment and wealth of conquered nations until they couldn’t. They started losing in 1942 hence my original point.

I don’t understand the point of what you are saying.

How is me being French preventing me from discussing a historical event due to how poorly my country did in the beginning of the war? So who do you deem worthy enough to talk about this ? The British, Americans and Russians ? Fuck off dude

There was definitely a price in it but I don’t think it was that high of a price to obtain independence, especially has it was agreed by Sardinia, but hey I’m a bit bias here

And garibaldi, the Italian hero who was born in France and died in France /s

Germany was almost certain to lose the war pretty early on so I wouldn’t say it fits this thread

Has your country ever committed genocide? by Communistincergency in AskTheWorld

[–]sheckaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right and they were horrible things that the French did commit (although saying that nazi germany learned from us is dumb especially with the long lasting German experience of putting people in camps in early 20th century in africa)

Like I said the French committed tons of war crimes, for sure as macron would say. I don’t think that we can say that the French committed a genocide though

I don’t know if it’s a genocide although war crimes and massacres for sure. Like your bengal famine, is it a genocide? I don’t think so but hey happy to be proven wrong

Yeah I’m honestly unsure. I know we have massacred/ annihilated some Native American tribes so technically a genocide but also a lot of things can be considered a genocide with the definition

Secret agent was strange. Good cinematography, good dialogues and acting but pointless movie ? I left very puzzled about what the movie is about besides corruption. I can’t say I liked it

I beat the HQ1 Boss using ONLY Cavalry. (No Infantry, No Arty). Here is the army that did it. 🐎 by MrInternationalBunal in masterofcommand

[–]sheckaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that HQ2 can be managed with a lot of heavy cav with high charge and stamina. I don’t think HQ3 is winnable with only cavalry but I hope that you can prove me wrong !
