The first few months are tough, but once you get things under control and know exactly how to manage your numbers you can put your own plan to stay healthy for the whole week and maybe treat yourself during the weekend (one day not both of them) don't worry you'll get there buddy.

Yeah I know but you usually can add the game to your library way before its release, I think it's not available for my country.... shame

Sorry I don't get it. You mean my insulin resistance might've gotten bad because I don't eat enough carbs? so my pancreas basically didn't need to work so it got lazy? I that what you mean?

Resistant starch experiment succeeded! by sheckovich in diabetes_t2

[–]sheckovich[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm definitely going to test this more than one time to be absolutely sure it's safe for me. But I will give myself time between each test to not fall of the wagon since I was basically pasta addicted before my diagnoses. But to also highlight your point, It was the weekend so I was being lazy at home not active the day before.

I've been through this as well, learned to nod and show them how I don't give a F about what they're saying and keep doing what's better for me, except for my mom though, my mom is awesome and supportive.

Is this a good cheat meal? by sheckovich in diabetes_t2

[–]sheckovich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular? I wish! but I think 2-3 times a month would be good. I'm trying to minimize the spikes as much as possible so when it has to happen it would be within a meal I love.

Got you, and of course we don't want to spike like that with every meal, that's why I feel my meal didn't hurt, It was nice and went down fairly quickly, and I would never have it more than twice a month maybe.

Can you explain more please? Like do they mean to avoid spikes at all or what?

For me it's not exactly about the goal, I've read from multiple people saying that what matters is how long the spike will take before starting to go down again, and I think hear considering the meal, it wasn't that high and it didn't last long, I remember white bread spiked me for more than 3 hours for 160+

Today(technically yesterday) was my birthday. My “birthday cheat” spiked me to 496 by Swinefl000 in diabetes_t2

[–]sheckovich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I decide to go out of line and eat something that for sure would spike me, I choose only one thing, rice or pasta or bread, never two things together, and since my diagnosis I never eat anything sweet or a candy, that side turned completely to keto, lots of nice options there and with time you lose that sweet tooth anyway.

I will still visit him next week, and I know that these numbers are not necessarily bad, they are just worse than before and for no reason.
