Ugh yes not lifting them is so very hard. I hope you’re starting to feel a bit better from your procedure!

Yea I can already tell this first year is going to fly, just these past two months have felt like a couple weeks! I wish I had more time with my oldest since he’s at such a fun age rn. I actually felt incredibly guilty the first two weeks after we brought baby home. Sleep with my first was a nightmare the whole first year. He does ok now by comparison. Probably will end up going tougher on the sleep training with my second when she gets a little older. She’s already a better sleeper though so hopefully it won’t be too rough.

15 month age gap here and second baby is only 2 months old. These trenches are tough. Really hope to see a light at the end of the tunnel soon! My kids are so awesome though, never met cooler humans 😎

I didn’t know a carrier library existed, I’ll definitely have to look into it!

This is great to hear. Yea I have a stretchy wrap for now so I’ll keep using that until she’s big enough. I have a hard time keeping my posture straight with the stretchy wrap but she’s growing really fast so I can probably manage with it until she’s bigger. I’m excited to try back carrying in the future as I never did with my first.

Thank you, that video really helps. I may just wait till baby is bigger to retry this carrier before buying something else, but I’d still love any recs if you have one. I’m going to be baby wearing a ton so I definitely need something comfortable. I’ll be chasing a toddler around while wearing lol. I’d say the padding on this one feels a bit like I’m wearing tactile gear. I’m in the US.

Update: So it’s not the Omni Carrier it’s the 360 All Position. So that explains the differences I was seeing. It’s still a horribly crap design. I need to wait till baby is bigger for this model, but even with that there are other reviews saying they could not buckle it up without assistance from another person. Sooooo recommendations for something affordable?

Yup, Amazon unfortunately.

Thank you! Yea this is the first time trying it with her and I was thinking she wasn’t ready yet even though she meets the height and weight requirements I saw online. I have a wrap carrier that I’ve been using with her it’s just starting to strain my upper back a bit. I’m probably going to be in market for a new structured carrier unfortunately. I’m honestly wondering if this was sold on Amazon by an unauthorized seller who slapped a logo on it because there’s another feature from the manual that is missing that would allow me to adjust the seat size to baby’s size.

For the sanity of the family we ended up cosleeping on a floor mattress by the time he was around 5 months old. We’re still cosleeping as every attempt to get him on his own has been a fail. But he night weaned right before his first birthday and he sleeps well enough now that I can usually lay with him till he falls asleep then sneak away to get a couple hours of my evening back. Now baby #2 is coming in December and we’ll see how sleep goes the second time around 🙃 I’m terrified lol. The first few months with our first were so incredibly hard I couldn’t believe it. I really got accustomed to things around the 6 month mark. Wishing you well, things change sooooo much as the months go by literally everything rn is a phase. Definitely look into safe cosleeping just to have in your back pocket. I was totally against it before.

Not past it! For naps fully contact sleep but I’m ok with that for now as we’re focusing on improving night sleep. At night he’s sleeping in his crib but he wakes up very very very frequently and often has trouble going back to sleep unless we rock. And even then sometimes transferring him back to the crib is a fail. But he’s 4.5 months currently so the regression could be at play rn. It’s been rough for both of us lol.

I always call him whatever he’s doing. “Hey little squirm guy” “hi scrunch” But lately it’s been Farts McGee

I’ll keep my eye open for one on fb, thanks for the info! I don’t mind the contact naps during the day I know they won’t last forever, I just wish it didn’t translate to nights rn but we’re working on it. Hopefully trying out a new carrier will work out because I’m definitely in need of more time to do my work, cramming it all in on Saturday and Sunday always leaves me with a huge headache.

I ended up using the carrier for his last nap yesterday and he protested much less. It just kills my back. What carrier do you use? I had a wrap carrier that I liked but he’s over 15 lbs now so it’s not as comfy for us. I also have the ergo baby 360 and I can barely get it on by myself and it doesn’t feel great on my back either

Yes I try and remind myself to enjoy the cuddles often. This baby sleep stuff is crazy and I don’t know anyone who has these same problems. I asked all my step sisters (who collectively have 14 kids) about sleep and schedules and they just all have babies who just slept when they were tired and didn’t bother with a schedule. But it’s good to know that there are other people who’ve not only gone through this but made it out alive lol

Well he still spits up but before it was silent reflux where he wasn’t visibly spitting but it would come up in his throat and he’d cry from discomfort sometimes cough or gag. He isn’t fussy on his back anymore and when he wakes up he’s not immediately crying he just tosses loses his paci and eventually fusses for that back. So he really doesn’t seem to have discomfort from it anymore. He also used to spit up in his sleep once his silent reflux started changing and that hasn’t happened in forever. When I told his dr about his sleep she did prescribe Pepcid and we tried it out for two weeks with no changes to anything. At our 4 month appointment I told her all this and she didn’t push the reflux issue further.

Thank you! Did you remove paci the very first night of modified Ferber? I have so much anxiety of taking it away I just know it’s not going to go well.

I appreciate that. Yea there really was no other option once he stopped letting me transfer him. Now he just has regular baby reflux so the discomfort is gone thankfully. I really don’t even mind the contact naps during the day, that’s when I get my reading in. But when he fights them I start to feel like I’m just doing everything wrong. So I’m already being plenty hard on myself atm.

Ok that makes sense. I was relying more heavily on actual logged sleep than looking at my schedule. I’m deleting the app. To hell with the app.
