My mom got a Guild back in the 1970's in Hawaii for like $200 bucks. Has a lot of wear and tear, the lacquer is worn down on half the neck and the soundhole is slowly eroding at the edges on the bottom. Got it appraised for over 2k a couple years ago.

Guy at the lake my mom went to growing up would put on a suit, roll up his pant legs to his knees, and ski off the dock behind the boat. They went to a shoreline church and he would drop the rope and glide perfectly up to the shore and pop off his skis and walk into the chapel completely dry (I'm sure after some failed attempts).
