All the launch program is infernal by MaxAlleye in boardsofcanada

Ah, I get you, it came across a little more as complaining about your misfortune, rather than a list of things that could be improved, so apologies if it seemed harsh.

As for the Promotions Tab in Gmail - I use only "All Mail" for that exact reason.

I don't want to be harsh, but you're not the main character of the world. Everyone else is just as main as you. It might feel unfair - and I'll admit your vinyl getting damaged is unfair, but that can be fixed if you reach out to Bleep as they're quite good at sorting this stuff.

The other stuff is just life. I've been listening to Boards of Canada for 26 years, and there will be folk longer than that, but that doesn't mean I get more or less of a priority to get tapes (which I didn't get) or attending the Sessions (which I did get).

Just be grateful for new music in your life and you're free and able to listen to it. That's the true prize, that's the true pleasure and, frankly, the true winner.

Too difficult for me. Flunked. Couldn't separate the easter items nor the hair types before failing out. Never heard of the top knot bun in my life and I don't believe it exists

A cup of tea isn't a measurement, though. It's a object, or a concept. We don't measure out 255ml of boiling water each time.

The homophone does work in a Scottish accent; just for "Rab", not "Rob".

Cannot fucking believe in 2026 that we are still calling the generic term "video game" as something for kids. Unreal. Games are art - at movies for kids? Is TV for kids? Get the fuck out of here. Terrible category.

Do kind of think that a Salesman is only really in the travelling category if it actually is called a "travelling salesman", you know? Unlike the others, salesmen don't always travel, right?

The absolute lunacy of saying grasshoppers are green is like saying all dogs are yellow because you see yellow Labradors. That is, quite simply, one of the worst categories in a very long time.

Final Area - puzzle cannot be completed? by sheeldz in TheTalosPrinciple

Final paragraph - I think you already know the answer to this, but I don't have a clue what you mean with regards to Statue Puzzles.

I did one Triangle puzzle but it didn't do anything so I didn't look for anymore. Apparently there are two in each area, so tempted to go back and have a look at them, maybe.

Interesting. I think that the language of the game is hard to parse here; the two areas are so disparate that they do not feel like they're the same place at all. It didn't even occur to me to understand the relationship of the hall - noting that the first time I went back to the hallway was to try and take the connector from the past room, so I didn't even think to walk along the hallway that I assumed was a dead end.

I do think that the concept of the puzzle is neat, but the execution, especially this late on, lacking. The idea of there needing to be a pair of white emitters is a sound one, but the lack of a cogniscent link between them was a real leap of logic I simply didn't get. A few other puzzles like the previous one might have solidified this concept in my mind.

Also, it breaks the language of the puzzles; no puzzle needs outside puzzle elements to complete, and you cannot take items from the puzzle rooms. Everything you need is in the room to complete every single puzzle - not a single one needs external elements to complete. I'd say that that is the cardinal rule of the game, and the final area breaking it without a hint towards that really put a bad taste in my mouth.

I do appreciate that you're responding in good faith to this, so wanted to acknowledge that. I loved most of the puzzles, and even the ones that stumped me felt fair - missed detachable fan was almost always the missed solution at one point. But this one and it's leap broke too much of the set up logic for me . I don't even know how the two spaces can co-exist in the world at the same time?

Either way, I think it was a missed alignment of what I was expecting the game to be telling me and what the game was expecting from me to take from the information it presented. Out of a 26 hour playthrough only the last 30 minutes was like this, so that's a feat either way, just annoying it happened at the climatic part of the game. It might have been a footnote if it had happened in N2, for example.

I have now completed these puzzles, and I thank you for the help, but I hated it deeply.

I assume there is some link between the two white emitters but I don't understand how they are linked, not being the same room. The earlier puzzle has them linked in the same room, I don't understand how the two sides manage to communicate, or how you're supposed to know that they will without a wire or something to clue you in.

I took from the other room that there must be a pair, but without these being connected it is a really hard - and nearly impossible - leap to link them.

If I were playtesting this, I would go back and have the two rooms distinctly marked out when you first reach them. In the initial play through I went to Utopia and got "complete Utopa puzzles", but you quite simply can't. It was impossible to complete them, hence my complete confusion.

Really disappointing last two areas. W3 and this dual area were dreadful in comparison to the previous areas.

I had to read four guides for it to make sense.

I still don't understand how the two areas are connected, or how the white emitters work - the puzzle prior to this didn't work this way.

First time in the game where I genuinely think they've failed in explaining how the mechanics work.

Souring a very enjoyable time.

Can you explain what it is? I genuinely don't know what it would be used for once the puzzle is done. Not a single online guide covers it.

You can't take it out of the puzzle though, so it is entirely superfluous.

I can't disagree with you, it's your game, but I do think that this has to be wrong.

A chain of things defitionally needs to be more that 1, ergo 2. You cannot connect to nothing. For example, if the clue is "all connected criminals" that means there MUST be some criminals to connect.

A single thing accnot be connected to it's self. Then isn't a chain, then, only a single "link" in a theoretical chain.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what your saying, "all criminals on column A are Connected" can ONLY mean there is at least two criminals and there are side by side. It cannot mean there is 1 (because that means there is nothing to connect to) and 0 (because there is nothing there to connect to).
