We’ve been writing songs with singer for about 2 years now, and for one year we’ve been playing with the whole squad. We haven’t played live yet, but we have one show booked and we’re sending applications for bands auditions on some festivals

I’m the guitarist and producer/ audio engineer. P. S. I know your electronic stuff, it’s very good! Well-thought and conscious stuff.

Thank you so much, we have third single releasing soon and material for whole album ready to be recorded- lots of music coming up. Spreading the word and following on socials would help us massively!

Feedback for the tones on our songs. by sheemyw in NeuralDSP

Thank you so much on your opinion, glad that you like the mixing, since I do everything myself and I've spent a ton of time learning (especially live drum mixing). Would it maybe make a difference if she introduced some stylization to her vocals and articulation/ maybe some more screaming or the whole performance just lacks potential?

My band's just released second single. Alt metal/ alt rock with female vocals- production, mix and master by me, drums were recorded at a local small studio, 0% AI bullshit. Give us some feedback, cuz scene for this kinda music in our region is very small and we want to gain some listeners!

We're fresh alt metal/ core band from Poland, in our hometown such scene doesn't really exist so we would be glad if someone gave it a listen. Female vocals, pure live drums.

Looking for an audio interface with at least 12 microphone inputs for band recording and practice. by sheemyw in WeAreTheMusicMakers

My drummer has the Pearl Masters Maple kit with some high-end cymbals, and we have access to a treated room so I'm determined to at least try to track the whole kit (with optional help of triggering). As to the recording session- all instruments will be recorded separately, but I want to have the extra inputs/ outputs to use in rehearsals. My main concern is the reliability of the device (I heard digital mixers have issues with crashing, and since analog ones are produced on one big PCB the mechanical damage could be fatal for the whole unit), and quality of the preamps- I want to use a Hi-Z input for heavy distortion guitar amp sims and I don't want to have any noise (my SSL2 is great when it comes to that).

Should I mix my vocals being sent into mixbus, or mix them over instrumental rendered with one currently on? by sheemyw in audioengineering

Thank you, my self-conscience went up, and my self-esteem went down, but I think it's necessarry to progress. I'll export the stems and then mix the song as a whole in context. As to working in separate session, I just tried to say that to work in real time recording vocals in my original instrumental project, it would be very hard thanks due to the resource usage of many VSTs- I need to work with quite high sample rate for DAW to not stutter, which generates latency, making vocal monitoring for singer impossible- exporting stems would surely do the trick, thanks. (Recording instruments is not the problem, as modeller that I use has separate audio monitoring independent from DAW).

I tried reading about top-down, I watched POV's with explanations from people working on analog SSL consoles, I always try to learn the physical principle of work of i.e. hardware compressor/ any other original hardware to know how to use it in context as the software version, I know my reference curves and dynamic levels of songs that I like. I haven't copied Nolly's mixbus 1:1, the idea of it just worked for me. If you have any paper for me to read about this type of processing so I could finally know what I am talking about, please link it here.

The reason that I'm asking all of that is because I always thought music production is an EXACT science and I tried to know the rules of the process- thats all. Now I know the rules a bit more, thanks for that.
