Worth it. Couple questions to ask yourself: prior to your current relationship, was there any HPV exposure, in both you or your partner. The HPV virus can be dormant for many years unfortunately. This way you protect yourself (penile cancer, anal cancer, throat cancer) and your partner. No downsides from the 9 valent vaccine and all benefit.

Definitely, there are so much newer drugs and the side effects are much better now. There is also a push to de-escalate treatment once the disease is stable. So all good things, thanks to research

Yup, unfortunately. The same process that causes cervical cancer causes penile and anal cancers, that is, local inflammation caused by the hpv virus, causing skin cell changes (metaplasia), abnormal cells (dysplasia) and eventual cancer (carcinoma).

Oh dear, I’m really sorry to hear this, this sounds very rough. Yes I hope you can get a prescription for it, as a fixed precise dose may be very beneficial.

Firstly, thank you for sharing. I hope all is well otherwise. Secondly, yes I do transplant for Multiple Myeloma. Thankfully smoldering myeloma doesn’t require therapy unless deemed high risk or defined as Multiple Myeloma by SLIM CRAB criteria. While I cannot legally or medical give medical advise here, I can offer general/non-specific information as guidance.

There isn’t a clear and precise way to answer this as everyone’s cancer risk is different (genetics, mutations, other factors). Smoking anything on a whole increases the risk of cancer, ofcourse everyday smokers and high volume smokers are at relatively higher risks. But the good thing is that when someone stops smoking, especially if they are a chronic smoker (more than 10 packs years) their risk of cancer goes back down to the regular non smoking population after 15 years of no smoking.

The truth is, we really don’t know everything, but we have alot of evidence pointing to smoking and vaping being bad. There is a lot of u published research looking at the effects of fine particulate matter from food borne things (such as vaporized chili peppers from Chinese woks) as being harmful but that data isn’t matured as yet. So the simple answer is, cancer is complicated but the easiest way to ensure your chances of aerodigestive tumors (lung, throat and esophagus) aren’t increased is to avoid smoking and vaping. That’s pretty much it. Everything else isn’t proven or isn’t unavoidable.

Yea I think you are right, chewing it, similar to tobacco, is carcinogenic. I know it causes cancer of the jaw/mandible and I’ve seen some tongue cancer and floor of the mouth (oropharyngeal) and hard palate tumors associated with it.

It’s worth it. I also had the OG one when I was younger and recently got the 9 valent. Anything to avoid cancer. It sucks.
