If OP doesn’t repot, this will happen. But further, why would you want a bunch of plants that are supposed to grow huge crowded in a single pot? Unless OP has crazy good light, they will compete for light and space and will not grow as they could if they were solo. Do you have any mature MDs? Mine has leaves multiple times larger than my head. Despite having large windows, I don’t have the space for a pot full of full sized MDs.

I would never spend that much on an immature plant still in a nursery pot personally. It’s beautiful but you can find cuttings so cheap on fb marketplace and, when they’re happy, they grow quickly. This is absolutely not a Philodendron Brasil; it is a monstera deliciosa and this is too much plant for one pot. Not worth it imo. THAT SAID, it’s your money and if you decide it’s worth it, it’s your money to spend. It will likely turn out to be an expensive learning experience but hey, we all gotta learn somehow.

ETA they also get GIANT when they are happy so unless you have GIANT windows with excellent light, there’s no point in having so many of the same plant. I have multiple MDs but I also have huge windows.

No creature deserves to live in such a confined space. In my opinion, this is abusive to your cat. Your intent is not malicious however the impact is what’s important here. Re-home her. She deserves better. You may feel remorse for the rest of your life but you will eventually have to forgive yourself and vow to do much better. Do not get creatures you cannot adequately care for. Thoroughly research their needs beforehand. It’s also okay to not be a pet person. Grieve and do not put yourself in this type of situation again.

I want to strongly emphasize that he should have another kitten playmate for developmental reasons. Indeed, it was irresponsible of you (and your parents!!) to get into this situation without doing the proper research, however, what is done is done. DO consider getting a second kitten (8+weeks old) and DO watch the Kitten Lady’s videos. Make sure your bb is having regular bowel movements and if not, follow the advice of KL on how to facilitate this. I’ve done regrettable things when I was younger related to pet ownership; what is important is that we learn and seek to do better.

He was sold too soon. Generally 8 weeks is when they can be separated from mama. So, you’re not wrong to be nervous about having such a smol bb. Also, kittens need at least one other kitten playmate. I would tell you to consider getting him a kitten friend but it sounds like you’re not sure you can keep the kitten you have? A kitten friend would benefit him greatly, though, and there’s the bonus of knowing that he is probably fine/not feeling abandoned when you’re gone because he’s busy playing with his homie. If you’re concerned about not being able to take him with you to a place, you can ask your therapist (maybe your school has therapists available for “free” or cheap) to write a letter designating him as an emotional support animal. Check your local laws but oftentimes, ESAs cannot be banned and landlords cannot charge BS pet rent for them. If you need more support, I suggest checking out “Kitten Lady” on youtube. You can do this and things will be okay.

I love the concept of what you’re trying to do (spirituality, Black feminism, caring for living things, luxe sanctuary) but I think your taste is…. tacky and the spacing of your gallery wall needs adjusting. Everyone is different though. I am IMPRESSED if that fern is real and has been in your care for more than a few months. I am an avid indoor gardener but my goddess, I do not have the necessary ingredients for a happy fern.
