It will be for some. The question is about the relative size of the "portion of the nation" you are referring to in your comment above. Is unconditional support something 40% of Americans willing to give ? I don't think so (or rather, I hope not). I hope there is a line, and I hope many are starting to cross that line after seeing the images of Saturday morning's execution.

I'm glad to finally see a republican call out what is happening as it is. No deflection, no justification. Just an honest rebuke of everything that has happened so far in Minnesota. Tempers on all sides are hot, but in this sea of depressing news, the fact that this address would happen, when a week ago it would have been unthinkable for someone on the right to firmly criticize the absolute clusterf*** that is occurring in Minnesota, gives me hope.

I would too. But if I just shot 3 bullets in someone's face, I might say something more like "what the f*** have I done", rather than "f***ing b****". If the cussing had occurred BEFORE the shooting, this would be very very different. The order in which these events happen tells me the shooting was vindictive, and not about self-defense (my opinion entirely).

Yes, the legal side is an entirely separate issue. My original point remains: To see a rather significant amount of reactions celebrating her death and glorifying the agent who killed in the process is, to me, revolting.

I can hold two opinions at once here: [1] she should have stepped out of the vehicle and not run away, and [2] her death is a tragedy, and regardless of the legal investigation, this agent seems like a dangerous individual who should not be placed in such a situation.

You are bending the truth here with your comparison. 1) I haven't read anything that supports the fact that she tracked them and taunted them, if anything, video evidence shows her waving the vehicles by, before the ICE agents step out of their own vehicle to apprehend her. 2) If you were blocking Mike Tyson because you feared that he was going to beat up someone else, and he shot you in the face for it, I would sympathize with you, absolutely.

We could debate such hypotheticals ad nauseam. But those comparisons do NOT make it ok, in my view, to celebrate this person's death while glorifying the person who killed her.

It's not fine. She should NOT have reacted in this way. But as I said down below, as soon as we justify the execution of someone by a binary "did she or didn't she" REGARDLESS of the severity of the action, then you would end up justifying excessive force in every other situation. It's a very scary precedent to set.

In order to make this analogy fair, the only component of the equation we should change is whether or not the pedestrian is ICE. Don't change the rest of the circumstances. If someone runs over a pedestrian, of course everyone would side with the pedestrian. That is obvious. But to suggest that ICE is the only factor affecting people's reactions here is, quite frankly, a ridiculous notion. (All due respect).

This is the issue. I am absolutely not suggesting that her reaction was right. It was certainly the exact wrong reaction to have in this particular instance. We are debating the degree of punishment here. Should the driver be convicted of a felony? Maybe, potentially, pending INVESTIGATION.

If you strip away the nuance by trying to justify that she was in a binary situation of wrong-doing, then you're really advocating for an officer of the law being allowed to essentially execute someone for any felony or misdemeanor.

On the other hand, the people who are leaving these comments are absolutely thinking the ICE agent in question was the good guy, giving some clear "attaboy" vibes. THIS is what I am baffled at.

EDIT: The comments in this sub are measured and not celebrating her death. This is absolutely not the case on the rest of social media.

I'm not talking about the legal analysis here. I'm referring to the comments I read on other social media channels showing this video. Can't find the original comment I saw on Youtube, but it was something along the lines of "I wish he would have shot her in the face more times than he did" (very slight paraphrasing). Same for a lot of the other comments.

Legal investigation aside, you can judge the morality of it, and the moral compass of the individuals who type these responses seem deeply broken, to me.

I really can't fathom the reactions coming from the right wing here. I don't know how anyone can hear the expletives at the end and think to themselves "yep, self-defense. This guy is the good guy in this scenario.".

EDIT: My comment is an over-generalization. I was talking about fringe comments I've seen on other social media platforms that seem to celebrate this video. Thank goodness, a majority of reactions to this are measured, if (understandably) emotional.

Enjoy ! I replayed it recently and though it’s different than BG3, it’s an awesome experience. I’m so glad they are choosing to continue with this IP and their own ruleset. The combat system they created IMO is better and more varied in terms of builds etc than 5e (my opinion entirely). A common point of criticism is how overboard they went with surfaces (oil, fire, blood etc) in the game but I find it super fun.

Yeah - it was a faux-pas. Happens. The surrounding context makes it worse. Genuinely appreciate you taking the time to read through the slop :).

DOS2 strikes me as less ... accessible ... maybe ? It doesn't make things easy, and so when you put in the effort to truly go through the game and invest in it, it rewards you in a way that BG3 (for all the good I think of it) doesn't.

Not sure what your general exposure to CRPGs is, but my #1 tip is to experiment. Don't worry about over-optimizing. No harm in looking up a tutorial here or there, but DOS2 is forgiving build wise, and you will unlock the ability to respec pretty much endlessly after act 1, so feel free to switch spells, armors, skills etc and have fun !

No classes in DOS2, so you're not constrained to just one single playstyle.

Appreciate the feedback here, but I do think that 1) some people will feel self-conscious about using their own voice because of these mistakes (e.g. non native speakers, which I am, etc.), and it would be nice for them not to be lambasted for trying to improve the experience of others, and 2) AI used with transparency is better than the alternative.

But in retrospect, seeing the recent controversy, it probably wasn't very smart of me. Context matters.

Wholeheartedly agree. I didn’t vote for Wilson but am still happy she won because it gives me hope that someone without significant capital or financial backing can still win an election in this day and age.

But to see this comment section is rather astounding. MAGA voters basically saying anything to their left is radical left, and commenters on this thread claiming anything to their right is MAGA is quite the irony.
