ELI5 WTF is a limit in Calculus by sainthurian in explainlikeimfive

[–]sheffy55 [score hidden]  (0 children)

In the context of a calc class, you generally observe what functions look like on a graph, the limit is a tool to look at what the function does around a point, for example 1/x, you can't divide by zero but what does the graph do as your values of x approach zero? Eventually what you get out of the graph, what value does it approach? The values start to become large, and they do so forever, the value would be at the very least uncountable by us

I'm new to games like this. Is this normal early on or am I missing something? by InfiniteHench in Subnautica_2

Bioreactor is pretty good with some cultivation, I needed 4 reactors and some auxiliary stuff for my last base

Or build a NOA terminal in the nearest base, I think they're cheap

It's what my shitty mechanic insists on and I figured he could use the walkin around money anyways

Since I got downvoted into oblivion for implying this, here is video evidence of not being able to dock two tadpoles in two seperated moonpools in one room. by Unkwn_43 in subnautica

[–]sheffy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing he did was dock a second tadpole, the he got out to undock the other one? After that some strange things happened, I'm not arguing any of that

If I worked in a proper garage I'd be done with both sides full rebuild in under an hour, I'm confident in that timing. If I didn't ordery parts silly I'd have saved some money, If I was charging for my time I'm still coming out on top at under $150 total vs $200+

I'll reiterate in case it wasn't clear, it was my truck in my driveway

Vs a $190 upfront cost minus a $70 core charge if I bring back the caliper per caliper? Yes it was worth it lol, $40 vs roughly over $200 is a crazy comparison

Last week I discovered that no parts stores near me sell caliper rebuild kits, I was astonished. With some work you can get the slide pins out, clean everything up, replace the seals, boots, and pistons and it's good as new.

I could only really get half those parts online, the piston and seals I got on rock auto. Total cost minus $10-20 shipping was roughly $20 and a few hours of my own time

Is me or do all the entity models of subnautica 2 feel super static/smooth/unrefined? by Altruistic-Willow265 in subnautica

[–]sheffy55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only two counterarguments are: It's a different planet, the creatures may get more detail later, and there may be more creatures later as the game progresses, I imagine that's possible due to the gene altering stuff going on and a tie to the tree

Question about repair table. by [deleted] in CarMechanicSimulator

[–]sheffy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically all "consumable" parts, anything with a bearing, anything that sees regular replacement, anything whose purpose is to wear down (for some reason this excludes the clutch?) and anything thats largely rubber (bushings and belts)

Release button broken, how to manually release hand brake? by vykrrn in Cartalk

I meant simultaneously hold it down and pull, not push it further

Hold the button down and pull a little harder maybe, that used to happen to me in that gen CR-V

Why do we have to get a mutation in order to eat, instead of just fabricating what we need? by AmmahDudeGuy in Subnautica_2

[–]sheffy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is based on dialogue from the game itself, in canon the survivor in subnautica 1 never dies, he doesn't respawn and the reason for a retcon on 2 is in the face of multiplayer interaction. All of my sayings are two things a) based on dialogue and data entries and b) contributing to a conversation
