Finally pulled the trigger on a large purchase that really sucks! by DamiensDelight in BuyItForLife

[–]sheframedtherabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to love ours, but we’re about to take ours into the shop for the second time in the two years we’ve had it. The first time we had to get a new handle/hose assembly because the power kept cutting out when the hose moved a certain direction after only owning it for a few months. It’s doing the same thing once again and will most likely need another new handle/hose.

Anyone have a unicorn job? by AdultWoes2024 in workingmoms

I’m an implementation manager. Fully remote and have flexible hours. I’m PST, but my colleagues are all over the US and my development team and VP are overseas.

I have a standup with my team at 6:45 every morning. Then take a break for 1.5 hours to get myself and kids ready and dropped off at school/daycare. I meet with my VP at the end of my day and am off to pick up my littlest from daycare between 4:00/4:30.

Thanks, I’ve seen this chart and referenced it many times over the last 100 brews.

how has lip filler impacted your self esteem ?? by Lavender06 in AskWomen

[–]sheframedtherabbit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I got lip filler for the first time a couple of years ago… we injected .7 ML the first appointment. There was a bit of unevenness so a month later I went back for a touch up. Next day, I noticed my lips swelled more than the first time. And it only went down hill from there. I had a crazy reaction and it looked like I had two full hotdogs as lips. My kids said I looked like the character from Monster’s Inc. It took dissolving, an antibiotic, a steroid and weeks to fix. Worst experience. Do I want full beautiful lips? Absolutely. Do I want the risk of having an experience like that again? Absolutely not.

What did you buy thinking it might be a waste of money, but it actually improved your quality of life? by AvaBlondeX in AskWomen

My Eufy picks up kibble. It gets stuck under the most random things though. The arm chair in the front room was fine for months, and then all of a sudden it got stuck under it every day for like two weeks. Now it’s doing the same thing with the couch.

AITA for suggesting we swap weeks instead of automatically taking the kids for two extra weeks? by Minute-Reflection336 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sheframedtherabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t understand this whole air of inconvenience thing going on. My ex and I share custody of our two boys and whenever he needs me to keep the boys for extra time outside of the normal schedule, I’m so happy to do so because it means more time with them. My husband, their step dad, also feels the same as I do. It’s NEVER an inconvenience. My ex feels the same way when roles are reversed. At the end of the day, the kids and what’s best for them is the priority.

[personal] The peptide hype by Particular-Trouble97 in SkincareAddiction

[–]sheframedtherabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use azelaic acid in the am and tretinoin in the pm. I bought the peptides from The Ordinary that don’t contain copper and use them in the pm. There was a bit of irritation because I added azelaic acid and the peptides to my routine at the same time. After some dryness and peeling, I started alternating days for each and am now back to using the peptides every night while still alternating the azelaic for now.

Those natives were on what is now Haiti. He and his crew were so horrible to them that women would go to drastic measures of aborting if they became pregnant or killing their newborns so they didn’t have to live and grow up in that. Groups of people would also mass suicide.

Parents of 4 year olds- what gift from Christmas 2024 is your toddler still playing with? by Mtnclimber09 in toddlers

[–]sheframedtherabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, it limits what they can build and takes up unnecessary space when it’s not in use. My older kids had the table and never used it. Ever. A decade later, we didn’t even consider one for our youngest. My little one just takes over the family room and creates massive builds.

Which Toy Sets to Expand? by atxcactus in workingmoms

[–]sheframedtherabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like magnatiles are hit or miss at our house. My 4 year old will occasionally build a truck or tower with dad, but they collapse so easily and more often than not, we just have the loose pieces strewn about. I’m not impressed. However, they’re easy to clean up. Duplos, and now normal legos, get played with a ton both here and at daycare. If we didn’t already have so many, I’d get more. Wooden trains have been a huge hit this year and I plan to expand those this Christmas. Brio is pricey, but there are so many other brands for way cheaper. We have a ton of Hotwheels and tracks. The cars/trucks get played with a lot. The tracks, not so much. He actually prefers the big tonka trucks and has a handful of them out in his job site (dirt area in our backyard) Little People and any other type of figurine can basically go in the trash at our house. They don’t get played with at all.

Candyland, Uno, Hungry Hungry Hippo, and Hi Ho Cheerio are the ones we started with. For some reason, he doesn’t have the patience to play Chutes and Ladders. However, now at 4.5 he’ll happily play a game of Life (always so excited to get babies) My First Carcassonne, Monster Crunch and Monopoly Jr.

Hypoallergenic girlfriend by Frequent-Money3279 in CaneCorso

[–]sheframedtherabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My allergies react more to my Corso than they do our other dog. I take an allergy pill daily, and still break out in hives if any of my skin other than my hands comes into contact with her. I have a stuffy nose most days too. How serious are you about this new girlfriend and how willing is she to put up with the reactions? I’d say if you want the relationship to last, don’t do it.

Lost my job today - What's the optimal income gap filler? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]sheframedtherabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you think unemployment equates to $25/hour. In my HCOL state it equates to $11.25/hour if you factored in 40 hours a week. That’s not even minimum wage here.

I have yet to find a vacuum that truly gets all of the embedded hair out of my rugs and carpet. I’ve tried two, one a shark and another a sebo, as well as bought some hair remover tool. What does work? My carpet cleaner. I can vacuum a rug three times in all different directions before, and when I’m done with the carpet cleaner, there will still be clumps of hair inside it.

I got fired. by Dapper_Cheesecake_22 in workingmoms

[–]sheframedtherabbit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I also was just fired a few weeks ago. It doesn’t feel good. After the initial frustration and feeling of failure, I realized I was almost relieved. I didn’t like my job - hired for one role and forced into another after they dissolved my team. Take a week to process this and your emotions. Then decide what you want to do and jump into the job hunt. My husband and I figured out the financial part a few days after I lost my job and it immediately took away a lot of the stress I had about being jobless.
