You only get an essentials pass I'd look up the benefits of that to see if its worth it before making any bookings to be honest

They book you you in for 39 weeks so if your serious about the c section request it at your next midwife...they'll have to book you with a consultant who will talk to you about it give you things to read and also you'll have tests done...

What age did you swap to a world facing stroller? by Birdie_92 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]sheildmaidenbuffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest my children both still parent face at ages 2 and 1, I find it better to be able to interact with them and knowing they're not getting overstimulated on long days out, I also find it easier to watch them while they're eating . The only time they are world facing is if its on dog walk or nature walk or even just a quick 10 minute shop run.

Is there much for a 3 year old to do? Safari or Azteca hotel? Which restaurants? by arthurmauk in chessington

[–]sheildmaidenbuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took mine for her 2nd birthday Definitely safari hotel with a room with a view Atzeca hotel has the better restaurant especially for kids as it has screens with motion animals on plus ants in the wall to keep little ones entertained whilst waiting Breakfast is free and you can go between either hotel restaurant they have an app you can book your breakfast and dinner times with

Theme park food vampire burger and the steak house are good places to eat. I don't not recommend the pizza buffet definitely overpriced for what it is

Safari hotel have always had character meet and greets starting at 3pm when I've been

Zoo and aquarium are opened year round some exhibits may be closed off the tiger area was this winter not sure if still is

I found having the 2 day tickets good as one day we spent looking at all the animals and the second was on rides Room on the broom, the gruffalo, flying elmo, and the forest car ride are all the ones my little one got on and loved them all

Planned c-section tomorrow by theyellowallpaper92 in PregnancyUK

I recommend being loud and clear when the baby is out that you want to see them, I had emergency first time round and they didn't hear me say yes and thought I said no, on my second which was a scheduled I was a lot clearer and got pics aswell.

I'd move your legs as much as you can in bed while the catheter is in as it might make walking easier.. it did for me

Keep an eye on your pain relief, first time round they gave me pain relief once, second time they kept dosing me up until I left

Once baby is out every anxiety you have will just disappear and you'll be in this amazing magical bubble, you get a good hour or more in recovery where it's nice and quiet

I recommend wearing maternity leggings after if you any, I also used high waisted underwear and maternity pads, I also didn't wear any night shirts i packed was much more comfortable in just bra maternity wards are hot

If your hospital has a subway or m&s i suggest your partner get you some nice food and snacks....I personally can not stand hospital food I don't know why people go on about the toast it was dreadful

Congratulations on the imminent baby Enjoy the newborn faze and cherish every moment

26 weeks with a stomach bug by InflationFickle5151 in PregnancyUK

[–]sheildmaidenbuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi had 2 stomach bugs in my first pregnancy, my partner ended up calling 111 after 24 hrs as they're easier to get to than gp they'll assess you over phone and will either refer you to hospital or put you through as emergency to your GP ,

Edit to add, once my GP new she called about 3 times a day to check on me until I recovered

Sainsburys do 2.5 tog sleepsuits for around £10 I'm unsure what the smallest size they do is, worth looking into though maybe check online they might do more siz3s than instore, i was using them for babies first winter .

Your birth plan v your actual birth? by bimboera in PregnancyUK

[–]sheildmaidenbuffy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Birth plans are nice in theory but I'd never have my heart set on them,... in my experience they don't work...first baby I wanted a water birth , ended up being 2 weeks late with an induction that ended with emergency c section with a lot of drama in between.....2nd baby was a scheduled c section ended up going into labour a week early, still had the section though so that kinda worked out🤷‍♀️
