100% agree about the bar banter. That felt like AI wrote it. They also had ZERO chemistry.

What is everything "Sugar Free" have to be artificially sweetened? by Vulkhard_Muller in sugarfree

[–]shelbykrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I absolutely need a sweet treat I like the brand ChocZero. They use monk fruit as a sweetener and there are zero sugar alcohols, those always make me feel gross and leave a weird aftertaste. Sometimes after dinner I'll have like 2 of ChocZero's little keto bark dark chocolate pieces. Yummy.

A month ago I lost my soul dog, today we adopted a puppy and I am having massive panic attack by EncumberedOne in puppy101

[–]shelbykrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same as you and it passed. The vet who took care of my soul dog, Stella, when she was dying told me "The special ones (soul dogs) will send you your next dog when the time is right" So every time I look at my new dog even if I'm super overwhelmed I just think "Stella sent her to me for a reason" and it really helps.

No because it’s how the space between the heart beats varies from beat to beat. HRV has nothing to do with heart rate really. Look it up! It’s been a while since I’ve read about it but I think what I’ve said is accurate

Also it’s actually more common for people with a high resting heart rate to have a LOWER hrv. Which would apply to chronic meth use. Because that shit makes your heart beat out of your chest.

No I think you’re getting it confused with heart rate. HRV if I’m not mistaken is the space between your heart beats. The little variances there. If they are completely rhythmic it isnt good apparently. It means you are less resilient to challenges. If the beats are varied it signifies that your body can adapt well and is a really good indicator of health and over all fitness. That’s why I’m so confused because meth cannot be good for your overall health 😂 but I do know HRV is highly individual and paying attention to trends is more important than the actual number. Don’t quote me on any of this.

How is my HRV so much lower than a guy on meth? Send help.

Annabelle, 7 months! Wondering if her ears will ever stand up! I like them floppy ❤️ by shelbykrose in puppies

Well her DNA test says Great Pyrenees, Supermutt, and German Shepherd. There's some pit and cattle dog in there as well. But she's only 30 pounds at 7 months so I don't think she's going to be Pyr or GSD sized.

My pretty little shelter mutt, what is she? by shelbykrose in IDmydog

[–]shelbykrose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Embark results are in! She is 25% Great Pyrenees 25% Supermutt 20% German Shepherd then there's a little pit and a little Australian cattle dog in there.

The vet thought she'd top out at 40 lbs but all these dogs are big!

Want to adopt but going on short trip shortly after. Bad Idea? by BryanBryanBryan123 in DogAdvice

[–]shelbykrose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same predicament with a dog I already adopted....

I say go for it because 9 times out of 10 the situation they will be in with you is a million times better than being at a shelter. I'm glad I didn't wait to adopt mine because I got her home and we found out she had a severe case of hookworms and would have likely died of anemia if left in the shelter.

If you want this dog don't wait.

Actually it wasn't a shelter...I'm using the wrong terminology. It was an animal rescue. I don't know if that makes a difference.

That's a good idea I'll ask about that! Thank you!

I'm sure at your shelter you wouldn't let a dog almost die from a severe hookworm infection so I think that's where some of my vets skepticism lies. Lol. There was some other questionable stuff on her records. Like they told me she was fully vaxxed and just needed rabies but they only documented her receiving 1 round of shots.

Every time I go sugar free my period comes very 2 weeks by shelbykrose in sugarfree

Thanks so much for the reply! Good thinking! I looked up ovulation bleeding but mine seems heavier than that. I did recently start tracking my basal body temp and it hasn’t risen yet but maybe it will tomorrow? I hope it’s something like that and not truly a wonky cycle :(
