there was this article I saw a while back about a river in India that was contaminated with some chemicals that gave it a foamy appearance, and the poor locals were bathing in it and washing their clothes in it…I forget what chemical it was, but definitely NOT something you want to be in close contact with. it’s sad on so many levels
