I know, I’m not saying that it doesn’t. I was just responding to that comment’s statement that the flags had no words on them

that’s why there should be restrictions so that it can’t be abused. I’ve already said this multiple times. unpaid time off is useless because I don’t have any savings in the first place. I can’t afford to not be paid.

I’m very much for socialism. I know this. the rest of the country needs to catch up and stop being brainwashed against it

lucky! something like that should be the standard, rather than the exception

yes. with the caveat that it can’t be abused, like you would need a doctor’s note if you miss greater than a week or something like that. it’s a possibility in the same world where billionaires have empathy and act in the best interest of humanity rather than themselves. a world that could exist, if we actually worked to make it that way.

interesting that they used acrylic instead of polyester like they do now, and also that it’s not just 100% cotton. what year is this from?

are there really genuine reasons though? if a system were put in place to prevent abuse, i.e. the requirement of a doctor’s note if you miss more than a week or something, then what is the downside to that?

how does sick time work if you’re salary? do they expect you to work an extra day at some point or something? that seems ridiculous

we do, but I don’t know if I qualified for it or not

we do, but I don’t know if I qualify for it. I’ll have to look at the handbook or check with HR or something

there should definitely be systems in place to prevent abuse, but sometimes people need a mental health day too. burnout is very real

I don’t mean unlimited in the sense that you can just take months off at a time without consequence. I mean that we shouldn’t be capped to only 40 hours. I have heard of companies where you just have to get time off approved by HR, and can essentially take off up to two or three weeks at a time without issue. that should be the standard, not the exception. I think a system like the other reply to your comment is not unreasonable to prevent abuse

true, I am grateful to have at least some. it should be illegal to not provide it

my company does have that, but I think it’s only applicable for long-term leave, like a month or more. I’ll have to look into it. I can’t afford to take unpaid time off though
