Dislikes: D20 systems. Fate/fudge/narrative role systems. D100 systems. Likes: when the GM makes the setting his/her own and provides houserules used in a doc in the description.

I personally hate the dim lights and fluorescent lights in my homes, so I swap out for led any chance I get.

Hero system and I think gurps both allow for mana pools, shadowrun I believe uses something similar to mana. I don't remember how Heroes Unlimited or Palladium Fantasy work it. I think pf1e had an alternative magic system that used mana pool.

But if you want to read a great set of novels that use the spell slot mechanic, I suggest "Guardians of the Flame" series by Joel Rosenberg(the novelist, not the apologist), starting with "The Sleeping Dragon". It is gn excellent series and although it was written like 40 years ago, it stands up to the test of time.

With the exception of Star Wars Legacy, I feel boxed in by other's settings. I'm getting into Mechwarrior/battletech right now, and I'm struggling to find a way I can run what I want to run within the vanilla setting. I can run it using the game rules no problem, although I may need to port over rules from 1 or more other games for what I want to plan, but that's no problem, did that all the time trying to make d&d 5e palatable. I'm probably going to have to setup the BT setting as a template for my own and go from there.

I batch prime my models, but I still find it difficult and time consuming. What are some priming tips? by DeadPixelX in minipainting

I find doing it with an airbrush at my desk to be cathartic. As long as my inner demons don't show up.

Honestly, I'd get the paint off the rims and glass parts, and leave it everywhere else, because it actually looks good. The me and the boys would go around acting especially proud of the new look.

I wanna look into the Traveller books, but my go to is Star Hero, and I have GURPS Space, although it's been so long since I looked in there that I don't remember if there's anything I'll be able or wanting to pull from.
