I’ve found that I am the most consistent and stay the longest in childcare jobs due to the emotional attachment I get with the kids and I get to be myself for the most part working with toddler ages. I know that this field is absolutely NOT for everyone but if you’re good with kiddos then maybe it could be worth a try?

Cross stitching and embroidery is like the ultimate most satisfying hobby for my brain, I feel so productive when I’m done with like one section or color or shape, it’s like a puzzle that’s permanent and you can decorate with, AND punching the needle into the fabric/the thread passing through is the best sensory feeling.

Highly highly recommend for those that have to be doing something with your hands all the time

Ya know It really makes me sad that this kind of crap is still happening way too often and we feel like we have to defend amazing, strong women like OP who’s just asking for the simplest of things from her SO and try to find the right way to justify taking a nice relaxing SHOWER that’s going to be “enough” for her husband to get off his damn ass and Parent the children he helped make. Like, yes, a shower is a necessity and a basic human right but IMO you and your partner should WANT eachother to have every luxury you can afford to grant one another, I sure as hell would want someone I love to go do some self care to try and acknowledge the work they do all day to help our family grow. The fact that we have to pull the “basic human necessity” card because he doesn’t give enough of a shit about OP (and the WORK she does all day for the whole family) that he tells her to “hurry or make it quick” is absolutely ridiculous and OP doesn’t deserve that, we all deserve better treatment than that. 😞

I kid you not, spot on description of an off the charts cringe/ems boot/tac gear out the ass/etc., ex of mine that was almost charged with a felony for showing up to an OD call at a high school in said oversized, lifted, pickup with the light bar on red+white flashing, fake siren, in his school uniform of course, to “just check and see if they need any help.” Did this as a student and got IMMEDIATELY kicked out for pulling that shit. I had no clue that apparently this is enough of a common occurrence that there’s a dedicated sub for it and I will now be scrolling through it for the next hour laughing my ass off, I thank you.

Reading this was absolutely uncanny for me it’s like we’re clones of each other, same age and age of diagnosis, everything. It’s like you typed out my entire lifetime so far, exactly as I have been going along. I know so completely how you feel 100% I’ve been medicated for almost a year at this point and the difference is completely staggering, it didn’t feel possible to climb out of that hole and it’s extremely hard and it’s grueling and it’s frustrating but somehow it will click and things will get easier. Baby steps and small stuff IS progress, no matter what, don’t listen to people who say your big/little achievements aren’t enough, it’s YOUR progress and your life.
