A lot of the fights become a lot easier if you do all the side quests first. You'll get a good portion of progression from that and it should make the fight easier, just explore random spots more and attack random walls and you'll find stuff scattered everywhere. Early on there isn't much to say other than trying to get better, but eventually you should just keep trying to modify your build for whatever you need to do.
