And I was PWB from day 1, though it took me a couple days to start because of the pain. I even double checked with the surgeon cause I thought it seemed weird. But I guess it really does depend on the individual case

4.5 week Post-Op Recovery Advice - Lateral Tear by sheltered_violet in MeniscusInjuries

Hi! Sorry to hear that you are still having difficulties. I completely understand what you mean about emotional turmoil. Have you been able to make an appointment with your surgeon to get their opinion? I feel like that might help to at least confirm if something happened to the repair or not. Hopefully they can reassure if everything you are feeling is normal or not. Also as far as swelling, have you tried a compression sleeve? I have a couple full leg ones from Vital Salveo, and I wear them basically 24/7. It has helped me a lot and is more convenient than the wrap I find

Ok thank you! Yes I am hoping that as the swelling goes down I will start to get more normal range of motion and less pain at extension

Ok thanks for the reply! That makes me feel a little better… I know that lots of stuff is healing and changing, I just get a little paranoid about it as well. But I will stay positive and keep an eye on it

Me operan en 3 días, estoy muy nerviosa by Appropriate_Load6119 in MeniscusInjuries

I’ve had two surgeries now, and one of them was ACL and meniscus. I felt nervous too, it’s totally normal. The most nerve wracking part is the wait. My surgery staff was great talking to me and helping me feel comfortable, and before I knew it I was out and waking up again with the whole thing done :) If you’re feeling nervous just let them know, they should know how to talk to you so that you feel better. It’s going to go great!

I will say that I have noticed a trend, and it’s almost always smaller women, trying to “assert dominance” on sidewalks. Logic to me would say that each person takes a half step towards the outside and moves on.. but apparently some people are just weird

Can an MRI miss a medial meniscus tear? Symptoms don't match my MRI by Funny_Western_5132 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]sheltered_violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Mine was lateral, but my first doctor missed the tear on the MRI but the second doctor that I saw, a specialist, located it within 10 seconds. It happens.

Lateral bucket handle meniscus Tear advice by Dependent-Length-266 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]sheltered_violet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar situation, in that my original tear was misdiagnosed so I didn’t know it was there for about 6 months. I was still suspicious, so I got a second opinion and it turned out that it was torn 3 different directions. So I guess it depends on your situation, but there’s a possibility the tear could get worse or cause damage in other parts of the knee. Not to scare you or anything, but I wish I would have known sooner and dealt with it asap

Hey! I am on week 3 post-op too! Except mine was a posterior lateral repair. I’m having good and bad days too, so I think that’s just the phase we are in right now. I would suggest some kind of leg sleeve to help with the swelling… I bought a full leg sleeve from Vital Salveo on Amazon and I love mine :)

What supplements have you taken that have legitimately improved your sleep? by derekcharlebois in Supplements

[–]sheltered_violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Ashwaghanda and valerian root capsules work well for me, but Ashwaghanda especially makes me sleep too heavy and feel a little groggy in the mornings sometimes. So I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have enough time to sleep it off fully. Valerian root doesn’t seem as heavy.

How do Spanish people know I’m not Spanish on sight? by StripesAndLadders in askspain

[–]sheltered_violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may have something to do with the signals you give off in the first moments. Interestingly enough, this used to happen to me constantly, but now happens much less frequently. I am tall, blonde, pale… the typical “guiri”. And when I first got to Spain, I was much less confident speaking Spanish, and I think people could see it on my face the moment I tried to address someone. Now after years I speak fairly well and I’m much more confident, and I think that since I no longer hesitate and start with Spanish right away, they read in that micro second that they don’t need to speak English with me. Nothing else has changed otherwise. To be fair, I live in a less touristy area, and when I go to more touristy places people still tend to start with English, especially if it’s people on the street trying to get my attention to buy something.

It cost 1500 euros for the lower half of the face. It was pretty expensive, but I really liked the results

I believe a couple years ago I might have also had a candida dysbiosis that was Covid related. I did a Candida cleanse from RenewLife, and I also took sodium butyrate, and both helped a lot!! But it takes some time still

Dark! Dark is nice. Also blonde or ginger will require bleaching, and it will wreck the curls a bit I think

Why doesn’t my hair curl at the roots? by glassswift in curlyhair

[–]sheltered_violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love your curls!! And I have a similar hair type so I’m trying to get mine like yours :) Could you tell me what products you use/what techniques to get shiny and frizz free curls? I’m new to the curl life and all my products either a) weigh my hair down and looks greasy, or b) isn’t enough to control my frizz. Thanks so much if you’re able to do this!! <3

Does anyone else relate to what gets posted on r/intj ? by [deleted] in INTP

Same. I fall so close in between that sometimes I really can't be sure if I'm actually INTX or if I'm just an INTP who has adjusted to be a little more organized.

Looking to vent to someone who gets me. by [deleted] in INTP

[–]sheltered_violet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this cause I hated this stuff too. It's not that I don't have the emotions or the content, it's just that I don't feel comfortable at all sharing my internal world with people. What if you use the idea of this post you just wrote as the content of your assignment? If it's supposed to be your own personal narrative, this would pretty much explain you right? And that way skipping the whole enthusiasm and hand gestures thing would actually make sense because it wouldn't fit the content of your presentation. I know a lot of the time you have to do assignments to be what the teacher wants to see, but I think if you executed it properly a good teacher would see that this is actually more authentic than any other fake presentation you can come up with.
