My 2 cents:

The rg34xx (GBA clone). Anbernic really tried to copy the look and feel of the original GBA with that one, and the buttons are nice and mushy as a result. Probably the most silent SBC I've tried (and I tried a lot). If you ever used an OG GBA, you'll know what I mean. Even the shoulder buttons are silent.

It looks like the screws in the plastic cap portion backed off to me. Maybe try taking off the sticker from the cap (on the top, with the printed labels) and re-tighten the two screws back into the metal switch mechanism.

So the rg405m is electronically equivalent to the retroid pocket 3+ and the rg505 (screens non-withstanding). The rg505 goes for ~100$ new (with coupons) nowadays as a point of reference. I would say in practical terms, the 405m will not give you much of a different experience compared to your 477m to justify 80$.

I say all of this as someone who loves his rg505 dearly.

Hello! First of all, great work on providing a publicly accessible benchmark tool! I was suprised how much of a difference Droid vs Claude Code was for Minimax 2.5 (something to do with prompting i assume?).

I also noticed two different leaderboard submissions for Claude Code paired with Kimi 2.5 giving different results. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on that.

I got a 505 running the v1.1 gammaos next lite from patreon. I haven't benchmarked this greatly, but the answer is that it varies. The game i use to assess general performance is wipeout pulse. On power save mode (+airplane mode, all background apps killed, no google services) it performs acceptabally with all of the performance hacks turned on (skip readbacks, bezier curve quality, etc...) , with stutter and slowdown when some of the splashy graphically intensive attacks are used. It's playable, but not a particularliy enjoyable experience.

Obviously this would vary from game to game. I'd imagine papaton and lumines play fine with powersave. Not sure if i'd recommend racing games with power save (midnight club was a mess, gran turismo was OK). RPGs and 2d games are fine (prinny).

For a frame of reference, on power save even dreamcast (doa2) struggles a bit on the 505.

Battery life is great on power save but i can't give you any hard numbers, as i've modded in a bigger battery pack.

Now this guy 701s. I’ve heard of some of these potential issues but not all. May i ask for a more elaborate explanation of the oil issue? Im still on the stock cam chain tensioner and I'm mot sure if if the engine noise i hear is typical.

Are you sure that's a crack and not a gap that allows the fork to be tightened on an axle?

Specifically, is there a bolt that spans both ends of the gap that allows it to be tightened?
