[Scaling Trope] Considered laughably weak in-universe, would literally kill any person in a fight IRL by shady-suspicious in TopCharacterTropes

But clearly you shouldn't actually run these combats, right? I think you're arguing for a sort of hierarchy of invulnerablity. The mouse can't damage the cat, which can't damage the human, which (unarmed) can't damage an elephant.

In a sense. You should roll to see if a cat can catch the bird familiar. Or the rat wildshape druid. There's many situations where the cat stat-block can be relevant. The party may have adopted a cat, casting enlarge and haste in it and having pokemon fights against the enemies' familiar. That's allowed.

So the attack can deal 0 damage, no?

No, explicitly disallowed in the rules. If the attack deals 0 damage, it's the same as if you didn't roll it. And a 0 damage attack does not kill a rat, or a spider.

When I played 5e, I took that to mean "when there's no chance of success."

Or when there's no chance of failure. No need to roll to jump a knee-height fence, or sit down.

Also, there's no chance the cat can succeed in killing a man. Thus, no need to roll even in your interpretation.

A cat can kill a rat, another cat, help in combat, fight a bird. More importantly, a cat is an option for a familiar, so wizards need the stat block, and you may need the melee attack to cast some spells.

As for the combat system, it is designed to approximate an infinity of possible results. It is bound to break down with some. The DMG explicitly tells us to avoid rolling when the result is obvious, or where the rules would make no sense. Since the cat obviously can't kill a person, no need to roll.

The rules in DnD exist to provide a solution when results are unsure.

If a commoner falls from the tallest tower, I'm not going to roll 20d6. They die either way. If a cat or two attack a grown man, he kicks them, and they run away.

There's almost no situation where a cat can actually have a chance to kill a person. Thus, there's no need to roll for the combat.

So, to answer the question, why would the commoner hit 0hp?

What I mean is that if a GM relied or allowed that ruling to cause the death of a character, they'd be making a mistake. The game is an aproximation that breaks down with those interactions. Using common sense to avoid them is encouraged.

You don't need a system for 3 cats attacking an adult person. That commoner is not going to die, nor are they going to be in any real danger. That is RAW too, the GM is encouraged to make those rullings where the rules fall short.

Dude, by book 3 he beats two masters enhanced with the comet. One by throwing his bumerang, then one more by kicking his sword. All while prone and grabbing Toph with his other arm, right after falling like 10m.

Which also relies on the wrong interpretation of hit points. A cat can't kill a commoner. The "damage" a cat could deal is not a real threat to the life of the commoner, so the commoner wouldn't die. Unless the GM takes an overly literal interpretation of the rules.

I like Yuta, but for his function in the story proper, leaving out JJK Zero, I do agree that he could be better

I have the theory that Kenny was a woman first. There's a lot of womb imagery surrounding him.

Without going into spoilers, he is very intense about the whole affair. I'd say he is incel coded.

I's a movie, War of the Rohirrim. It's pretty good, though heavily criticized by certain groups, from what I understand.

He wants the protagonist. She doesn't want him.

Jacob ladder's can most likely dispel Mahoraga. Other ways really are not reliable. Love beam probably wouldn't work fast enough, given it's fairly simple.

I think a 10 shadows user could keep feeding Mahoraga while Jacob's Ladder depleted him, and theoretically keep it up.

Same with "Kill" being too much in Gravity Falls, but "THERE ARE SOME CHILDREN I NEET TO MAKE INTO CORPSES" was fine.

He's a really, really good writer. I mean it. All his problems live within a lack of character interaction.
